The forum for me is running really slow and timing out with the message "oops something went wrong". Does this in Firefox and Chrome. Have cleared cookies etc, restarted PC (Windows 11 eugh). Keep getting an orange message in lower right corner about trying to reconnect. All other websites are fine, internet fine.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7.... And more...
      I have too many devices...

@mrt10001 There does seem to be an issue today. The whole site was down earlier and some web pages are not rendering correctly. It has been passed on so give it a bit of time and it should get sorted.

There was a problem too for me this morning. Something like "ooops, your connexion has been lost, trying to reconnect you" while all other tab of Chromium browser were working correctly

There is an inconsistency in the display of unread messages when the page is left to refresh itself. When clicked, the current status is not at all the one that was displayed just before and that was wrong. Everything is explained in the image below.
            Best regards

The yellow new messages is not related to the number of threads.
You can have 2 messages in only one thread hence the 9 in the inbox.

Also there is a periodic update and between two updates many new messages can be sent.
This is regulard stuff and improving the accuracy is not a good idea as it will increase load on both the server and client part leading to a poor experience and increase in costs for the foundation.

Sorry but this is really a bug to fix, not an optimization to do. All is described below. There's just a few hours without any action between the two lists. The new messages are listed but where are gone the 4 first unread messages ?

                    Hi @Pulsar33

According to me this is a misunderstanding and a translation problem.
Where you put there is a new message it should be understood like a mailbox flag stating that at least one new post exists.

A new post can be either a new thread or a new post within an existing thread.
The sentence is not false where there were actually four new posts or 8.
The yellow information is "there is new stuff you should refresh"

Then there is the icon with a number.
It indicates the number of thread with at least 1 unread post.
This is updated at a certain pace and when you did refresh the page another thread was added meaning that the latest post arrived during the refresh period.

I don't see any bug as far as I can tell.
And I don't see any problem with this behavior as you know when there is new stuff to read...

@applee ok, let's say it's a simple timing problem for the number indicated, even if I've seen other cases where this explanation could probably not apply.

Nevertheless, the information "there is a new message" is displayed on a yellow background and this one is to be understood as "check your mailbox". It would be better not to indicate the number of messages on the red flag rather than displaying inconsistent values.

But when I say bug, I speak of the disappearance in the new list of the 4 top messages (with a red cross). I still have not read them. How can you justify that they are not listed anymore ? it is mainly for this reason that I posted these new snapshots.

That's weird. I had similar issue when I connect through different computers.
The computer I didn't touch keep the former state until I refresh the page but that is to be expected.
You said it has been left only a couple hours so if you didn't read those messages I'm lost.

So now in order to try and fix the issue that will be difficult.
The forum updates were done by Dalton but someone else is probably now in charge of this task.
The forum is a COTS that is installed and updated on the UBports server, the effort to analyse and fix the issue is too high to be put by the foundation, so do not expect any change.
At best we can monitor the situation and report the issue if we notice it can be reproduced.

@applee It's not a major bug, it's just a little annoying as I sometimes "miss" messages.
All I wanted was to confirm and trace the defect
