Hi. Can anyone tell me why the symbol for the hash key on the Phone number pad is 'No.' rather than the more traditional '#'.
        Thanks

@barryt I'm seeing a hash symbol '#'. Could it be related to a language setting?

@barryt I'm using US English, maybe that's the difference?

@barryt @Moem I can confirm changing the language on my devices gives the same result.
                English UK = No.
                English US = #

                edit: also
                English Au = #
                English Ca = #

Great! Then we still don't know why, but we know how you can change it. 😎

@moem I've tried US, Australia, and Canada English on my phone, and they all have the correct # symbol. Only UK English is wrong.

Is this a bug? And what is the correct way to report the bug?

@barryt Honestly I wouldn't know whether it's a bug! It might as well be a design choice.

I use a Nexus 5 with English (UK) settings. The "," key gives me "#" if held down for more than second.

Switching to numerical keypad the "#" gives me "#".

@cliffcoggin but the OP is talking about the telephone dialer, not any keyboard layout.

@barryt You may want to check the translation:

I'm seeing 'No.' on a Volla phone with UK English.

If its a design choice I's say people in the UK are used to seeing a hash sign, and will often be told in automated phone services to 'press the hash sign'.

I just read that in the USA its also known as a 'pound sign' 😧

@barryt : anyone who wants to and has the time can help to translate Ubuntu Touch to other languages.
If you're using the UK version, and you would rather see # instead of No. in dialer app, you can suggest a change.

@alter Thanks for the information. I have made a suggestion for a change to the hash symbol. We shall have to wait and see if anything happens.

@cherrie The No. next to the 0 gives the same output and should work as #
