Hi, as in the title, I can't find an option to change default setting that my number is not shown on receiver's screen when I call him. It appears as Private Number. How to change it- where is that setting? Thank You in advance. (my device is Nexus 4 if it matters).

To hide the number on next call, dial : #31#

Guru, thanks for the reply. I wasn't clear enough probably. I'm about exactly opposite situation. At the moment when I call someone my number doesn't appear on receivers screen/display- appears as Private Number. I want to set it permanently to be shown to everyone. On android you go to settings- calls and set an option "show/hide my ID". I can not find such an option in UT.

              Then try:

show status of presenting CallerID: *#31#
present CallerID on next call: *31#

When I "call" this code I get pop-up window "limitation of active line- interrogation disabled" and i can only tap a button "discard". So I understand that there is no such an option in UT settings- show/hide my number? Actually I had this option in any single mobile operating system I used to use until now, including Sailfish OS, Meego OS, Symbian OS etc, not mention android. It is because of difficulty of implementing it or UT creators do not want to implement it or other? Can I try anything else? Thank You for Your time Guru.

@guru Your suggestion has helped 🙂 when I entered and "called" *31# my number has started to appear on receivers screens- is not Private anymore. Thank You!

These codes are the so called GSM-codes. The exact implementation maybe provider specific. When other mobile systems have some GUI feature to control this kind of function, I think they just fire up the same GSM-code.

is there any plans for a more permanent solution in the settings menu?

@utouchuser as @guru said it is provider specific.
so something can be figured out, but will require a config file to update missing providers or specific needs.
It can be tricky but probably doable.
