Bacon goes focal!
-
Ok installed on another OPO (number 4).
Installed r54. Install went flawlessly from Android. Charging it up, but so far ADB works, WiFi connects, sound is working.
-
Battery - 55% to 0% in less than an hour.
No extra apps installed, no SIM installed. Wifi is on.
-
@MrT10001 we are currently investigating the issue, seems that the wifi driver is constantly doing something making the device drain extremely quick. if wifi is left disconnected then my OpO lasts about 8-10 days
-
@TheVancedGamer That was going to be my next test. Thank you for that as I have experienced it in the past with a previous OTA update on 16.04 (with Pixel 3a I believe)with Wi-Fi doing something, switching flight mode on resolved.

What the funky ? 8 to 10 days in iddle with mobile data on ?!?
That's amazing !
None of my phone, even pristine MX4 UT Edition, ever lasted more than 2 days in iddle.
-
@Keneda I meant with mobile data disabled but I haven't tested with a SIM card in yet, I will try now with some of my SIMs now that I have 1-2 days to work on it

Where is the list of known issues?
You can find the link to issue tracker for each devices on its page, from UBports main site device list.

I don't know. Either I'm going blind, or that page renders differently for me than you guys (and I've tried four different browsers). Can you pretend I'm useless and just me a link directly to the issue tracker for OPO Focal? I can't find it from the link you have provided.
-
@prophanetes
I don't know what to tell you, i'm confused, just checked and i can't find any link to issue tracker on OPO device page, and don't understand why this phone doesn't have one.I checked UBports gitlab manually and can't find it there neither...
Should be under "port resources" like on the P3a page : https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/device/sargo
@Flohack @Lakotaubp any clue ?
-
r55 failed to install. Boot to recovery only. Reboot and back to UT with r54.
Testing overnight battery drain, switched on flight mode.
-
Overnight battery, no drain on flight mode at all.
-
Used the installer to get past R50. Installed R55 successfully (slight wobble, installer did not force the unit to reboot to flash, but was able to help it along, Issue logged https://github.com/ubports/ubports-installer/issues/3264).
System updates found/installed R56 without drama.
Wifi and Morph are working.
Right-edge swipe to show open windows feels sluggish and is slow to respond when selecting a window to switch to.
Flashlight (green tick on Devices page) is NOT working.
Onboard speakers have the same crackle I had on R50 with headphones.
(Haven't yet tested headphones.) -
r56 installed fine.
-
so yesterday I went on a spree to fix flashlight with deviceinfo, which took me on a wild goose chase making a C wrapper for libdeviceinfo, and now i'm awaiting some reviews on my MR here: https://gitlab.com/ubports/development/core/deviceinfo/-/merge_requests/18
After this i'll try and fix ayatana-indicators-power and add deviceinfo support, which should hopefully fix flashlight once and for all.
(why I need to do all this is to make the flashlight node configurable, because OpO has two nodes in /sys, and ayatana-indicators-power picks the wrong node causing it to not work) -
Issue with Wifi - seems to show connected, but no input from user entering WPA2 key.
Therefore no connection. (I know wifi was working on this device before UT install).Camera app hangs totally now.
Terminal hangs still at spinning circle.
Edit, finally connection to internet - toggled wifi on and off and also between wifi networks.
-
@MrT10001 terminal app being broken is due to too old apparmor in our kernel (and the kernel being old in general), I am backporting some patches to make it work, fingers crossed I can get it working before my exams
-
Mmmmmmm ....bacon
-
Feature or bug? I was experimenting with Bluetooth, and now when I pull up Network from the Indicator Bar, I have:
Sim1
(Did it only say Sim before?)And then beneath that a filepath:
hfp/org/bluez/hc10/dev...*Still there after a couple of power offs.
-
r58, no install.
r59 installs fine.
-
just tested SIM reception, working after 3 reboots (yikes!). will try to resolve this -
Sorry, I haven't got round to SIM testing yet (two of the devices on Focal I got have SIM reading issues and I cannot remember which is which).
