Any news on this? Or is it handled the Debian way (it's ready when it's ready) šŸ™‚

@kristatos We're only at 32% so it's not for now... But as the Volla X23 will soon be sent, there will necessarily be an OT-?? (intermediate) functional superior to OTA-1 on it. So maybe things will speed up... I'm speculating šŸ™‚

@domubpkm Hi, I know that meanwhile there was some progress, but the expected release date is far behind. Maybe some of the issues could be targeted to another OTA, so that OTA-2 is not even longer delayed. AFAIR this was also done on some previous OTA's.

latest news, but for sure not all issues will be addressed, From the dev channel on Telegram:

We plan to do a maintenance release of Ubuntu Touch 20.04 (OTA-2) by the end of June 2023. The upcoming release will provide bug fixes and pull in security updates from Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. No invasive changes/transitions are planned for OTA-2. @Developers: make sure you have your MRs in shape by 10th of June. Until 20th of June, we will try to finish the code reviews. The deep OTA-2 freeze (including a first OTA-2 RC) will start on 21st June. Expect the release to happen before the months is over.

                      @lduboeuf Hi,
are there any news about OTA-2? The status of the open issues is almost the same and the month is already over. I've read in some other threads, that there is already a new RC, so hopefully the release is not so far? Thanks for the info.

Yes, should be soon afaik. If RC is good enough, OTA-2 will be there next.

As the Volla X23 was mentioned a few time in this thread, and how it might trigger a partial OTA release, I thought I'd itemise the issues I have noticed so far as an X23 user.

Flickering Screen when X23 (Ubuntu) charging

(See OTA-1 'Charging mode is not working on Volla Phone X and Volla Phone 22. You can charge the device with a regularly started system.)

Screen flickers when phone switched off and charging. Flickering stops if any content is displayed on the screen (e.g. Battery %age graphic) I've put in a support request to Hallo Welt.

                          Notch hack only partially works

The notch hack makes the time visible again in the rounded corner, but icons are still hidden behind the notch.

Some apps not available for focal yet

                          I'm waiting for:
                          ONION SURF
                          HOME (TILED DESKTOP)

                          WayDroid will not install

Installer in Waydroid Helper does not progress. I've put in a support request to Hallo Welt.

                          X23 not in reflashing tool

This makes trial-and-error attempts to fix other issues very risky, as users will not be able to recover their phones themselves.

BUG: drops from 4g to 3g it never goes back up to 4g

When mobile is set to set to 2g/3g/4g, where it drops from 4g to 3g it never goes back up to 4g even after relocating to a 4g area

BUG: hotspot not connecting when WSA password used

(see OTA-1 'Password protected WiFi hotspot is not working')
Hotspot connects very well where there is no password. Hotspot does not connect when a WSA password is enabled (but client connects successfully to other WSA protected networks. The WSA mechanism on 20.04/Focal/Volla X23 appears to be non standard.

This is Fixed in RC branch. See https://forums.ubports.com/post/73862
Hotspot mode not working for devices with Halium 9 or higher #1939

                          BUG: Headphone socket not working

Headphone socket not working but bluetooth audio works fine, so there is specifically a headphone issue rather than an audio issue generally.

Can use bluetooth headphones/dongle as a workaround for now

I'm afraid you'll have to wait sometime, as the autor of this app, @pavelprosto wich is russian, didn't give any news for a long time now.

Tried to PM him some time ago but no answer sadly.

I just hope he is fine...

Maybe someone will fork his work.

@Keneda Pavelprosto chose another path than UT for a long time unfortunately for all those who appreciated his work but in general his github activity seems frozen since the end of 2022..

His last posts on the forum (on his Godot 3D test app) didn't feel like he wanted to go away from UT.
