I have Ubuntu Touch 20.04 on a Sony Xperia X phone. I have installed Axolotl 1.6.0 and the Open Signal button is not working. Please help.

@sony : new registration you mean?
This is currently still broken.

I don't use Telegram, I would like to use Signal. The only question is when will there be a fix to make Signal work on axolotl?
-
@sony : AFAIK the current Axolotl status is:
- users who have registered before registration became broken have a setup that still works;
- users who are new and want to register now can't do it because of changes in Signal servers.
Axolotl is an unofficial 3rd party app for Signal, available for several mobile OS'es, and maintained by volunteers which you can reach via Telegram.
They are working hard to redesign the app so they can adapt faster to changes on Signal's servers. Signal makes changes a lot and that is what breaks functionality, and they have to adapt.So short answer: they're working on it.

I have a Signal account and I want to login to Axolotl on Ubuntu Touch 20.04 rc but it doesn't work. Does axolotl work for you?
-
@sony You need to register first with the Axolotl app. By doing that (on the time the app is working again) your registration on your iPhone or Android device will be lost.
Transfering data from your old phone to Ubuntu so you can login will non work I think.It does not work like the desktop app where you can use a qr code. That way you can work on both, the desktop and your phone.
-
@sony : It does. But I was lucky to have registered before registration broke in Axolotl.
-
@Alter You mean you were able to make Axolotl2 work as "desktop" app?
-
@muskist : I'm using Axolotl (from OpenStore) on phone with Ubuntu Touch 20.04. I haven't tried the latest (.click?) versions from the Axolotl-dev Telegram group.
I have used (as secondary app (on my Ubuntu desktop PC) official Signal desktop with (as first app) Axolotl on phone. This worked for me. Haven't tried recently. -
@Alter Ok, thanks.
