One of the reasons for the move to focal was to be able to use updated upstream software and therefore free up internal resources to be dedicated to other things previously engaged in backporting or developing in-house solutions.
Following the switch to focal, are you able to give us an estimate of how much energy was saved which you can now dedicate to other aspects of the project?

Are there still packages/libraries that you would like to see upgraded to the upstream version? Which ones are they?

Well, it's just a simple question. I don't want to cause any trouble, of course. I know the background why Droidian exists now, because it can do more Linux than Ubuntu Touch in the terminal. The question why you use two installers I don't quite understand. Or is it just internal for developers to test the software? No idea but I always wanted to know that, thank you very much.

I also have a question about the Miatoll devices, especially the RN9P. Will it be possible to use higher Android versions than Android 10 in the future? That would be my request to the small Ubports software team.

Long time user of Ubuntu Touch and UBPorts. Firstly, thanks so much for all of your efforts; it's incredible what you've been able to accomplish.

Now to the questions - ~~my existing pixel3a is sadly showing signs of dying and I'm looking into getting a newer device. There were rumours Marius was eyeing off a Fairphone 5 - is there any news on that front?~~ I should read posts better - this probably skirts too close to a question on a device being ported, sorry!

Also, sorry to sound like a broken record as I know this comes up frequently, but what's the latest on VoLTE, and dare I say it, 5G? :astonished_face:

@Enrico13011978 The use of Android versions is required for the vendor BLOBs (which are usually proprietary. Later versions of Android are now having an anti-rollback feature to prevent downgrading too.

@Kamikaze - VoLTE is ongoing and is implemented in a different way on each device. They are working on it and 5G

Can we add One Plus N100 as a supported device?

I am running OTA3.1 and would like to be able to upgrade it to OTA 4 so I can test with that version.

There are improvements to Bluetooth in OTA 4.0. Can a method be provided to bring those changes easily to test on OTA3.1 (before One Plus N100 becomes a supported device officially?)

Thanks for another Q&A. I would be interested in knowing how the relationship is between the UbPorts team and producers/vendors of supported hardware, such as Volla, FairPhone, Pine, ... How does cooperation work with them?

Hardware-related things like VoLTE or Miracast screen mirroring seems to be things where cooperation is particularly important.

Hello, Yesterday evening I got an upgrade to ota-4.1. Strangely enough, I haven't been able to read anything about it yet.
What was changed in the upgrade?
Where can I find information?
I am in the stable channel and previously on 20.04 ota-4.

@Charly Honestly I have no clue at all about this. Im not affected by such an upgrade and still on OTA 4.0. I was also confused by the random "answer" on the q&a last night and I m sorry, but I cannot help you in this at all... sorry.

@messayisto Didn't see the Q&A but could this be something to do with XFone and their own update process? The only change on our side I can think of is this https://forums.ubports.com/topic/9834/ubports-focal-branching-will-happen-on-14-february.

Thank you to everyone who has tried to help. Unfortunately, nothing seems to be known about an upgrade to 4.1. I'll attach a screenshot, maybe someone will notice something.

@Charly My Volla X23 just updated from 4.0 to 4.1 too. I'malso on the stable channel and always have been.

The release details before installing just referred to it as 'Version 4' but after installing my details are now:
