Hello,
When will the volla x23 get an entry in the subcategory / subforum for volla devices?
Thanks & greetings
Charly
P.S.
That is not a focal question. But unfortunately I can only send contributions on the subject of focal or libertine

Hello, I have a volla x23 cell phone. I use ut 20.04 as the only os in rc version 7 which according to my information corresponds to the current ota-3 .
The GPS information stored in the metadata of the photos appears to be incorrect.
Although they are in the right country, they are roughly 100 km too far north .
However, the Gps function is correct in unav. It is only about the metadata of the photos. So it's a problem with the photo app.
To test this, I took a photo of an object whose position I know exactly. I used mat2 to read out the gps data in gms format. Then I converted it to dd format and specified it as the destination in unav.
I hope I can contribute to further improving the software quality of ut with this error message.
Greetings Charly
@danfro said in Volla x23 error camera app, wrong gps metadata:
hope the fix will land soon, but I guess I will need to ping some people to check it. Then it will be released either with a new release of camera app or the next OTA. Fingers crossed.
Thank you very much and I'll keep my fingers crossed!
Advent greetings
Charly
Great, I'm waiting for the correction. Is there a chance that it will come with ota-4?
How do I find out if a fault is already known?
Greeting Charly
Addition Infos:
Describe the bug:
If you take a picture with a volla X23 with lokation position enabled the photo app store the wrong gps metadata in the picture.
Steps to reproduce the bug:
Take a picture with the UT Photo app with gps location enabled, read the included metadata with mat2 -s. Check the gps position of the metadata and compare it with the gps position where you took the photo. You will find an difference of 50 to 100 km.
Expected behaviour:
Please check this behavior and correct the photo app to store the right gps metadata in the pictures.
Additional context:
I took a picture at: 52° 40' 12.4" N 13° 19' 0.8" E
With mat2 -s its shown 53° 20' 12.12" N 13° 36' 58.66" E
(If you need, i can send you this picture)

@Lakotaubp said in Please add the x23 in the subforum for volla devices:
Is the X23 on Xenial?
The Volla X23 is on focal from the bginning.
When I look at the categories, I see the cell phone manufacturers and the models as a subcategory. Volla is there and all models except the X23, which has been available since this summer. I would ask that a subcategory be created for the X23 as well.

Hello forum,
I have a Volla x23 cell phone and would like to support the development with my experience. Unfortunately there is no subcategory for the Volla x23 yet.
Where can I submit my bug reports. I currently only have write permissions for two categories (Focal and I think waydroid or libertine)?
Why is there no subcategory for the x23 yet?
Many thanks and best regards

Thank you very much for the detailed answer!
How can I report the known errors for ota-4 to help?
Update, a sw update has just arrived.
Version 7, which seems to be the rc name. It is 683 mb as expected.
Looks like an rc has now been added.
I'll test if I can change the update channel to stable again.
But what did I receive on 31.10.? It was good and stopped the memory lacks.
Thank you very much!
Thank you for your answers. On the whole, the channel concept is clear to me.
I will describe my problem in more detail.
I received an update of 271 MB on the rc channel on 31.10.2023. Was that already the rc from Ota-3? The other OTAs had a size of approx. 680 MB for me.
then I read here in the forum that there is no RC for OTA-3 this time. Time reasons and technical delays were mentioned.
Yes, and then I personally have the problem that I can no longer switch from channel RC to channel stable on ut. Even if I do that, it switches back to RC after a short time.
So if there is no RC this time and I can't switch to stable, how do I get OTA-3?
I haven't received a software update in the last two days.
Sorry I am confused.
Thank you very much for your help.
