      @lduboeuf said in Poor sound quality in phonecalls:

      I've been testing VoLTE for a while now. As expected, the voice quality is better. Unfortunately, Volte uses a lot of battery.

      I'm unsure about the power consumption, but the battery life seems to have become shorter over the past few days. I suspected that this was due to the VoLTE usage.

      @Kjetil

      Hello,
      I also have the feeling that the call quality is not good. What you say would explain that.

      I have a fairly modern mobile phone, a Volla X23.

      I've been testing VoLTE for a while now. As expected, the voice quality is better. Unfortunately, Volte uses a lot of battery.

    • RE: New Volla Plinius and Plinius Plus with Ubuntu Touch

      @wally

      The network connectivity is offered by the processor. There is a Mediatek Dimensity 7300 in the Plinius. You can find network support for the processor on the Internet.
      It's not a guarantee but quite likely.

      P.S. Are npu supportet by ubuntu touch?

      The radio doesn't work because we don't have an app for it.

      Hello,

      my Volla X23 has a FM radio implemented. A radio app that supports the hardware radio would also be desirable for me.

    • RE: Working VoLTE reports, share your experience

      Hello forum,

      I would like to give a little status update.
      I am on the latest RC 24.04-1.2 and have a Volla X23 mobile phone.

      VoLTE has been working for me for a long time. But the usage is not good.

      Since it was available there has been no ringtone when dialing. So it's hardly usable.

      A bug report was created weeks ago.

      Many greetings

      Hello,

      the native video player is not optimal. As a solution that actually always works I use mpv in liberline on the shell.

      Good evening

      Thank you messayisto for the bug report.
      I have tested VoLTE again lately. There is still no dial tone. The called one simply talks about.

      hallo Forum,

      I have a volla x23 phone with 24.04-01 stable and my experience with VoLTE is not so good.

      Calling with VoLTE is difficult. There is no dial tone and you don't know if the call will go out at all or if the destination is busy or no one picks up.

      I have disabled VoLTE again!

      many greetings

      Hello forum,

      I have had the micro SD card in my x23 cell phone for 3 years. I think back then only fat32 was possible. I don't know if anything has changed.

      I will try out whether an ext4 formatted memory card is possible.

      Best regards

      Hello forum,

      I think all apps are available through Waydroid. Unfortunately, for waydroid apps bluetooth does not work!.

      That would be my greatest wish that bluetooth could also be used in waydroid.

      Then I can connect Spotify to the bluetooth speaker or the Victron app with the inverter.

      @GooglyBear

      Hello,
      I'm not really well informed. When I put the micro SD card into my cell phone, only fat32 was possible as a file system. Unfortunately, that's not so good because of the lack of a rights system and the limitation to file sizes of a maximum of 4GB.

      I hope ext4 will be possible at some point.

      Best regards

    • RE: Backup and restore (TWRP-style)

      @Vlad-Nirky

      The first one is for fat32 fs because it has no rights.

      If you want copy the rights you need a linux file system like ext4 as target.

      If you copy to an ext4 usb stick and use rsync with sudo, all different rights should be applied correctly.

      Thanks for the info of the return of rsync.

      Will it be possible to have ext4 on the internal micro SD card in the future?

    • RE: Backup and restore (TWRP-style)

      Hello forum,
      before 24.04 noble I always mounted a USB stick in my cell phone and synchronized the folder /home/phablet to the USB stick using:

      rsync -rtvP --delete --modify-window=5 --delete /home/phablet/ /media/phablet/STICK/phablet/

      or

      rsync aP --delete /home/phablet/ /media/STICK/phablet

      Unfortunately this doesn't work with 24.04 because rsync has been removed from ubuntu touch.

    • RE: Call for testing: Ubuntu Touch 24.04-1.1

      @gpatel-fr

      Hello

      I did a few tests today.

      1. I tried another micro SD card and the read only problem did not exist.

      So it must be a problem with the micro SD card.

      1. A check of the file system (with pc) of the problematic 1 TB micro SD card showed problems.

      After repairing the file system, ut mounted the card rw again.

      With my x23 I had the situation a few times that the micro SD card was sometimes not available (maybe a contact problem). This probably led to the file system problem.

      Thank you very much for the help in locating the error!!

      Best regards

      @Bolly

      No, I'm just waiting now to see whether my suggestions are taken up.

      If necessary, I can use syncthing instead of rsync.

      But of course it's a shame if you have a shell but the programs are missing.

      Hello forum,

      I have a Volla x23 and problems with my micro SD card.

      With 24.04-1.0 and 24.04-1.1 rc1 the micro SD card is read only mounted.

      Previously it was mounted writing.
      Is the problem already known?

      Best regards
