RE: MMS users: call for testing
On my Redmi Note 7 when I have cellular data on, some MMS come normally, and some in no longer time than 24 hours via SMS from the operator informing me to log in on the website to download MMS. It is frutrating enough, that usually I keep internet data off so the useless battery drain is not that big. I wonder if the script provided here coul help with that

Volla Phone X in practice
While reading the forum Volla Phone X caught my attention. Ubuntu Touch out of the box sounds great However I would like to ask how it performs in practice? How is the phone call quality? For how long last huge 6200 mAh battery? Is it possible to use it like a week on 1 charge? Plus screen 6.1 inch seems good, still slighty too big to be fully handy enough for small woman hands (4.7 - 5.1 inch would be better). However while looking at Fairphone 4, which I think is tablet thanks to 7.8 inch screen, Volla Phone X is definitely much more handy.

RNT with USB OTG cable?
Hello,
I have read recently that there is an option to connect pendrive directly to the smartphone via USB OTG cable. Have anyone tried using this cable with RN7 running UT?

RE: My Ubuntu Touch daily driver is...
My daily driver is RN7 which I bought last December specifically for using Ubuntu Touch. So far I used it four months with breaks for testing other systems. The most it was LineageOS and /e/ os. They are nice, but I find UT more interesting and more suited to my needs. This is why I use it back. What is more, more functional it became in the meantime on RN7. The only thing that I would change is to have smaller screen like 4.7 inch (not 6.3) but that's all.

RE: Ubuntu Touch on Redmi Note 7 as a daily driver for a casual usage?
Hi, I have pactised few custom roms during past year. I have started from Ubuntu Touch, it was also Lineages OS and /e/ os. I was testing them switching from time to time. Most of the time I have used UT on my Redmi Note 7 as this one suits my needs the best. I enjoy using Linux everywhere I can as I see it as a secure and privacy friendly software. Eventually I figured out some issues which where keeping me with Android. (people were willing me to use some android/ios based apps)
As long as you need just a privacy focused phone, not full of apps tech toy, it is possible to use it as a daily driver. I am not sure about WhatsApp. However TelePorts (Telegram) works great. Mail app is available. MMS need mobile data to work and depending on the carrier and/or country it could work but doesn't have to. But even if they do not work I usually receive a text message with request to log in on the carrier's website, so I can see the photo.
Thanks to playing around I must admit that UT on RN7 had evolved during this year a lot and it is even more daily driver as it used to be in December 2020.
