AFAIK it will move to noble, but it won't get VoLTE (like the Vollaphone). First it's nice to know that these devices are kept alive with the move to noble, but on the other hand it's a pity that they won't get VoLTE (even if they are capable of that under VollaOS). So they will be up to date from the software-side, but can't do a simple phone call or sending a message/SMS because of the 2G shutdown

@benzer On my Vollaphone X running 20.04 OTA 5 I can get to the SD card in the file manager by launching it then clicking on the menu top left (parallel lines) then the SD card is at the bottom of the list - a string of letters and numbers. Clicking on this gives me the standard user folders (music, downloads, etc) on the SD card.

There is no fool proof trick to get a faster first fix. Just follow these rules : Put your device in a well open location with clear line of sight from the sky in most directions. Keep your device unlocked and screen lit up. The active app should be using the GPS, meaning the GPS icon should be filled. In good conditions it will be fast, but depending on your hardware and the constellations it can take some time. An additional tip would be to set the device in flight mode to avoid disturbing the GPS signal with WIFI or the modem...

@nicolasrull I believe you ended up getting this solved as reported on https://t.me/volla_dev/10340, correct? This was originally caused by picking the wrong device (Volla Phone 22) in the UBports installer including with bootstrap option selected which overwrote the bootloader of the X23 making even access to fastboot not possible; the only means to recovery was SP flash tool in this case.

@Keneda said in AT&T SIM does not work in the US: For now your best option to be able to call in the US with a 4G device is to use SIP call, go to ubports north american telegramm group (ask from there https://t.me/ubports) for more info and to get the SIP app to install. Session Initiation Protocol work when the phone is connected to the Internet. How I connect to the Internet without connection to local provider. At home I have my computer with VoIP. I have Android phone with 4G and it is work perfectly with AT&T SIM.

Until recently Volla had some reconditioned Volla X phones for sale but I haven't seen any new ones for sale for a long time and the reconditioned ones dried up a couple of months ago. I was hoping to buy a Volla X cheap as it was being replaced by the X23 but the prices stayed high till the end. I bought an X23 in the end which I'm very pleased with, but Waydroid isn't available for the X23 yet in case thats something you need. EDIT - Looks like there are some new ones available at the moment in the shop which brings you back to your shipping question. I would contact Volla and see what they can do for you. Nb the X23 is reduced in price by about 40 EUR until the end of July.

@Bocephus said in Volla Phone X23 about to ship: It's obvious English isn't your first language Maybe english is not my first langage, but i understand it enough to know calling "dumb" what someone says is offensive, and that this person can take it personally as an insult (in fact, in any langage...). I also understand it enough to recognise irony, and irony is not dumb, it's just irony, involving marmelade in present way... On this forum, code of conduct allows irony, not calling dumb people or what they say.

Funny WiFi search only shows some of available networks, have to Disable/Enable WiFi (probably more than once) to make it update the list with the one I need. Got my Wireguard connection imported with nmcli. Now it is natively supported. Works perfect.

@ygrex I suggest you look at https://forums.ubports.com/topic/7283/anbox-support-for-the-fairphone-3-3/2?_=1673700715553 Use Waydroid in preference to Anbox. Having said that I haven't installed either. I tried Waydroid using Waydroid Helper from OpenStore but I somehow managed to almost brick my Volla Phone X and lost all my data getting it working again. I'm sure it was just me doing something stupid, but be careful.

@voila Messing with the IMEI number is illegal in most countries to help prevent phone theft and cloning. I have had to recover it from a IMEI 0, the device had two stickers on the inside and out with the IMEI number, the SIM tray had it stamped on and the box had the same number. I did a lot of Google-fu and found a program to recover it and the device worked fine. It took a bit of doing, and the device had been flashed with multiple ROMs which probably helped cause the issue.
