@negations I just wanted to do more that +1 this because over the last couple of weeks I have renewed my interest in UT because the N5 is running so cleanly. In the states they are so inexpensive to get, parts are so cheap and easily replaced that I keep a spare laying around in working condition so if something goes bad (because of being drop kicked usually) I just swap the sim card and carry on then have the new part in and replaced by the weekend. I had to repair an Android device so picked up an old UT N5 and can't seem to make myself switch back. Very smooth, very attractive.

RE: Nexus 4 won't ring when receiving call
I just reinstalled using the latest method after OTA-2 and the sounds now all work properly. Early days and I haven't tested anything yet, but I hope to now put it into daily use and will track how things work.

RE: Nexus 4 won't ring when receiving call
Ok, so as I said I'm just a user/enthusiast. I drop a few bucks via Patreon because I love this phone OS, but I would also happily do anything else if I knew how. I'm also new to github bug reading and reporting. When I look at #71 I see it is closed but does that mean it should be fixed. Is there any way to find out if this affects every single Nexus 4 which I would assume makes that device unusable or if there is something particular about certain devices which might benefit from providing information. I'm just really timid about jumping in with distracting or foolish information and questions when there is so much on the plates of the folks actually doing the work.

Contacts only partially imported from Google account.
I have a spare device that I am trying the latest updates on. I recently did a "Device Reset" using the "Erase & Reset All" option after which I decided to try using my wife's Google Account on it because I will upgrade her as soon as it is generally available. I added her Google account under accounts then did everything I normally would to import her contacts from there. When it was done syncing it had only imported about a dozen out of 90+ contacts. On closer review, the contacts that were imported were ones that had been touched in some way within the last week or so. If I go and edit a contact then hit sync the newly edited contact is imported, otherwise sync doesn't seem to have any affect, it is a Nexus 4 running "Ubuntu 16.04 (2018-W31)" 3.9Gb free.

RE: Easiest way to activate phone on a carrier
My wife has been using Ting since it was an "Ubuntu" phone. She has had a Nexus 4 and a Nexus 5 with no problems at all. Since the sim card is activated online, it doesn't seem to care about the phone and OS. For the first month I turned off data at the Ting dashboard to force wi-fi connecting at all normally visited locations. Since she is mostly text and talk she decided not to turn it on unless absolutely necessary and rarely goes over $23/mo. (USA / Central OH)

RE: Gmail client
@elastic You mean Dekko 2 correct? I am playing with it. I'm just assuming that there must be a lot of people trying to read gmail and wondering what folks are finding as "best". The legacy app wasn't perfect but I found it useful and the notifications worked great.

RE: Gmail client
Anything new on this front? I just moved my wife to a Nexus 5 and did a fresh install. With the legacy store gone that isn't an option. What is the current best way for her to get notifications from and read mail from gmail?

RE: Nexus 4 won't ring when receiving call
Ok thanks, I'll flash it back to straight U.T. with stable because my use case is %95 phone and texting but will try to keep an eye on this, and maybe try again in the future.

RE: Nexus 4 won't ring when receiving call
Is there a bug about this issue? I didn't see one and being just a non-developer enthusiast/user I'm wanting to figure out if this is just a problem for me or if it is something I should report, along with guidance on what information I need to have to do so properly.

RE: Nexus 4 won't ring when receiving call
Yes, thanks though. This one didn't ring from first boot and through one re-install and dozens of restarts. What seems odd is that speakers work for other things and the ring doesn't come through a headphone set either.
