RE: Battery issue in Nexus 5
@rubencarneiro yeah, I know it is only cosmetic. But there are other issues like the date stuck in 1970 and the impossibility of connecting known wifis. I have had my Nexus 5 in the cupboard since I wrote this just waiting for some improvements. Thank you very much!

RE: Best version so far?
Thank you very much for your useful comment. I really appreciate it. I agree with all of it. I mean, I understand it's a hard way to put Ubuntu on a phone and making it work perfectly. Nevertheless I find they have achieved great goals and, as said before, I am patient. It is awesome anyway.

RE: Best version so far?
@electrogas Really? And which version is yours? I haven't seen that in mine... But I did notice it was a little bit warm in the back side with devel_rc-proposed. Now the temperature problem is gone with stable 10 but battery is gone too

RE: Best version so far?
Yeah maybe it sounded exaggerated when I said "24h" before, but I actually meant "I can use it average (no games, no overuse) from 8am to 10pm more or less", which I can't do right now. I also bought Nexus 5 because of its easy-to-hack features, so I can't complain. I have other phone to use it daily and I can wait for an improved version. I don't think I'll buy a Pro5. I also tried and it was impossible to find it. And I prefer spend not that much.
Thank you very much for your post. Really useful!

RE: Best version so far?
Wow... 7 hours in standby •___• It's clear there is a problem with the battery. How can we use a phone with such a short life? I was thinking mostly of battery when I wrote this post because it is the point which I find more critical. At least it lasts more than my stable 10... When will we have a phone with 24h of battery? T_T
Thanks for your answer @SawFish

Best version so far?
Hi guys:
The question is that simple. I would like you to share which channel is the best right now for you. I have tried devel_rc-proposed (with the last posible version two weeks ago) and everything worked but data connection and battery display. I also tried stable 10 and everything worked but video recording and the battery literally died in 3 hours. Both of them make UTouch impossible for me to use it as daily phone.
So I think we could use this thread for sharing experiences related to channels and help each othher. I really look forward to using it as my only phone but I cannot do it right now. What do you think? Which is the best channel you have tried for daily normal use?
Thank you all for your time.

RE: Nexus 5 /stable browser
Hi @my_aleks_95 :
Stable 10 works great (even the browser if you want to try) but the battery life is horrible. You said the browser is the only thing that doesn't work, so I have some questions for you:
- Which stable channel are you using?
- Can you use data (3G/4G)?
- How much does the battery last?

Continuing with this topic...
The battery literally dies too fast. I had my Nexus 5 (stable 10 channel) charging during the last night and I unplugged it at 10:00 more or less. It it 12:30 right now and the battery level has fallen down to 44%. I have only made two phone calls and I have visited one or two websites in the navigator. Besides I feel the cell is continuously warm (not hot but like if it was working in background), although it doesn't have any app running. Of course during a call it gets quite hot. Maybe I'm missing some configuration but this way it is completely impossible to use UTouch as daily phone.
Any help will be appreciated.
This is the battery life. As you can see, it completely disappears in two and a half hours and it takes too long to charge until 100%

RE: Nexus 5 Ting Data Not Working
Hi everybody:
I just want to share my experience with this issue today. Following the advice of @allaoua (who also helped me with this problem) I switched from devel_rc-proposed to stable 10 channel and finally I could make data work. The other problem (battery display) has also been rapaired by doing so although, as allaoua said, video isn't working but I don't really care because I can't even remember the last time a used it.
I hope this can help.
Best regards for everyone and keep going. -
RE: Nexus 5 Ting Data Not Working
Hi again @allaoua and thanks for your quick answer. I think I prefer data over video so I'll give it a try

RE: Nexus 5 Ting Data Not Working
Hi @allaoua
I am on devel_rc-proposed and everything works fine except data. I was thinking about changing to stable 10 as you propose here but I've got a question. Do I have to come back to Android again? T_T It was a really pain to get UTouch in my Nexus5 and I don't know if it's worthy. Can I switch from devel_rc-proposed to stable 10 directly?
Thank you very much.

RE: Battery issue in Nexus 5
Oh, damm... I have just realized I wrote "Does it really affect the battery level or it is only a problem with the battery level?" I'll edit it right now.
Fortunately you understood (battery display). Thank you very much @allaoua. I suspected it would be nothing but that as the battery life seemed normal to me.
Thanks again and best regards to you too.

Battery issue in Nexus 5
Hi everyone:
After a couple of days with my Nexus 5 and devel_rc-proposed version (the only one I was able to flash) I've tried most of the usual functions this afternoon and everything runs great but I find that the battery level gets stuck in 50% no matter how long I have it charging. When I plug the cable the battery turns into green with the power signal and it eventually reaches the 100% but in the moment I unplug the cable, battery level comes back to 50%.
Anyone else with this issue?
Does it really affect the battery level or it is only a problem with the battery display? (it shows 50% although the real level may be actually 100%)Thank you all; I've learnt a lot of all you guys.

RE: Failed to install Ubuntu Touch on Nexus 5
@Bash-Horatio said in Failed to install Ubuntu Touch on Nexus 5:
Failed to enter Recovery
Hey guys, I want to share my experience with this problem:
I had the very same issue when typing ubuntu-device-flash --server=http://system-image.ubports.com touch --channel=ubuntu-touch/stable --device=hammerhead --bootstrap: Failed to enter Recovery, although I actually could see the Ubuntu recovery mode.
Reading here and there and going really crazy as nothing worked, I tried the devel_rc-proposed channel and something different happened. I had the same issue with Failed to enter Recovery but this time I could see the UBports Recovery instead, which was encouraging in some way. So I tried once again with the devel_rc-proposed and this time everything went fine. I have my Nexus 5 with Ubuntu Touch running as hell.
The first time it didn't connect to the wifi. It asked for the password over and over again with no result and I thought it could be a problem with WPA networks, but I rebooted the phone and it did connect. I haven't found any problem until now with this version.
So I would recommend, as @kereltis mentioned before, not to give up and try several times. I seems to me like a random issue. I hope this can be usefull for everybody.
Keep going with Ubuntu!
