now, almost 4 months later im still in that situation. i used manually or auto mode to try, but after that. nothings happens.

@lakota with MDT I got the cache problem. It always stopped when clearing cache. Even ADB didn’t work from the Ubuntu touch recovery. Pretty stucked right now. A handy guide to flash it with fastboot manually would be great.

Now I managed to get a windows machine. With the installer I can’t get it to work too!!! It stated that I have top it the phone in bootloader mode, but actually it is.... connected... in bootloader. Of course it is unlocked and so on. Someone doesn’t want me to get Ubuntu touch right?

I got some problems getting Ubuntu Touch on my Nexus 4.

First I tried the installer for Mac (got a MacBook), but for some reason it doesn’t recognize my phone plugged in. Phone is of course in bootloader/Fastboot mode. Then I tried using a virtual machine to fire Ubuntu up and tried with the commands from the homepage for nexus 4, but it won’t work at all. It’s getting stucked everytime, the only thing I got working is the Ubuntu recovery. I tried even the ADB Sideload (install command without —bootstrap) but it won’t Sideload all files. It just stopped transferring. I think it’s a problem with the VM but I don’t know... is there any way to Flash Ubuntu Touch manually on Mac? ADB and fastboot are configured. I would just need the flashable files.
