@lakotaubp I had the same problem. I think it's because I installed the wrong Jasmine sprout image found on the internet. The only fix I've found is to get the A2 back to factory setup, using the Mi restore tool, and then do it all again from the start.

Using the link to the jasmine sprout found on the UBports installer, hasn't put back the tux on my fastboot anyway ...

@usenix I did try an other android without success. I followed this vidéo but I translated on Linux instead of windows : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0t4UE4SiEL8

And used Ubuntu android 9 link instead of the one he provides in the comments section. I also used his twrp guide, for exemple he claims that only twrp 3.3.1 works for the A2... I wish you will find the solution!

I am not really understanding what I am doing ! so it s hard for me to help you correctly ...

Ubuntu Touch switches the buttons to get into fastboot. That is if it was power+vol_down after installing that now becomes how you enter recovery and power+vol_up is now fastboot or vice versa.

@usenix I managed to make the installation work fine, with the installer. Just Ubuntu didn’t boot correctly for me afterward. Both my slots were accessible using fastboot.

Before flashing Android 9 did you wipe and format the partition with your recovery?

Hi everyone, I am new here! and happy to be participating !

I just tried to install Ubuntu touch, but when ubuntu is booting the screen just goes black during the splashscreen loading phase : (not an actual screenshot...)

Before calling for a bug, I want to share with you my process for validation.

1 - First I unlock my bootloader using fastboot
2 - install TWRP
3 - Flash the jasmine_sprout_stock_android9.zip that UBports installer is suggesting to me
4 - Reboot on the android to put developer mode "on"
5 - Run UBports installer till the end.

I have to say that during my first attempt, my computer randomly shut down fastboot during UBports intallation (due to amd usb issues I think). and before that I wrongly flashed an UBtouch rom that switched my android fastboot to a linux one.

After all of this I still managed to wipe my phone and then install UBtouch.

I did all of this using UBports Appimage from Elementary OS
I also tried using manjaro on an other computer but having the usb Issue.

I managed now to reset and lock again my phone with the mi flash tool to restart the process from fresh. I also found an usb amd issue bootloader fix (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJNVxUYdRe4). My next attempt will be on windows using powershell.

My questions : - Did I understood well the process ?
- Is it a good idea to try again according my UBtouch boot problem?
