@arubislander @AppLee : Thank you for your suggestions, but it is indeed the way that @Applee suggested: A rebuild doesn't help. But i found a solution: I found out that my system (an older Thinkpad) can be upgraded to a 64 Bit CPU on the very cheap... so i ordered the needed stuff and will begin to work on the hardware the coming weekend.

@ma said in Axolotl - no contact import or creation possible: I had the same problem today. I could not add a new contact. As a result, I added the person (only the name and phone number) manually in the following file: ~/.config/textsecure.nanuc/registeredContacts.yml Thanks to the information in your post, I just succesfully exported my Axolotl contact list from one device and imported it into another device. I did this by copypaste, using the file manager to put a copy of registeredContacts.yml into an accessible part of the file system (Downloads); I then transferred it to the Downloads directory of the new device, using the file manager of my laptop (both devices were connected with cables). Then I placed the transferred file into the ~/.config/textsecure.nanuc/ directory of the new device, and when I started Axolotl on the new device, the contact list was populated. I have described the process in a newcomer-friendly way here so that people like me can understand it.
