@igor I am not sure what you are referring to here in your query. The phone is stuck in initial boot up after installation. So I would not come to know if my phone's dual sim slots (CDMA + GSM) will work until the initial boot up is successful.

RE: Redmi 4X stuck on first time boot
@lakotaubp Thanks for the response. Apologies for the delayed response. I am not sure what I need to do based on the links provided. Should I pick up the latest build from the below link?
If yes then can you help me by pointing to the exact file I need to download?
If I am not wrong, then I need to format my Redmi 4's storage to Ext4 and install the halium image file (that I am hoping you will point to) using adb command. Hope I am proceeding in the right direction.
Highly appreciate your response to my query and eagerly awaiting your response.

Redmi 4X stuck on first time boot
Hi,
I have a spare Redmi 4X (purchased in India). The configuration is the same as the one for which Santoni released the Ubuntu Touch variant.
I am a noob and I have no idea about programming whatsoever. I know it is not a good idea for someone like me to go ahead and install Ubuntu Touch on a device without knowledge of Linux and not being able to troubleshoot the problem.
Nonetheless I am curious to know how this issue can be resolved.
I unlocked the phone using MIUI unlock, wiped the phone data completely (factory reset) and entered in fastboot/bootloader mode to install Ubuntu Touch using UBPorts Installer (ubports-installer_0.8.1-beta_win). I manually chose Redmi 4X, chose the stable version and hit install. The OS downloaded and got successfully installed. However, the device is stuck in the boot screen. I can see the MI logo and the Ubuntu Touch logo in a black screen and that is all it displays. Even after going to UBports recovery mode and resetting the device, there seems to be no progress. The only way to switch off the device is to goto recovery mode/android actions/advanced/power off. Restarting the device doesnt do anything.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
