@skipperkeith hello again, i have successfully installed waydroid: i installed waydroid helper from the openstore selected 'install waydroid' this time the download finished without incident (my earlier failures might have resulted from my mobile data hotspot's variable moods) messages were obvious and showed success but... once installed and opened in landscape mode, the screen was oddly divided and flashed the word 'waydroid' in a corner. not functional at all. finally... restarting the tablet in portrait mode, waydroid loaded, with the good old lineage boot graphics, and my ubuntu touch tablet became an android 'phone.' i'm typing this within duckduckgo browser (from aurora store) installed in lineage os running android14 in waydroid on the ex-android11 lenovo tablet, with its new base os - ubuntu touch - only a swipe away. brilliant! so far, performance is pretty good! even the windy (weather) app, with its impressive graphic displays, is perfectly usable. duckduckgo now syncs itself with my mac and android versions. great things seem possible, but i won't rush to load it up with apps like a new 'phone.' i'm impressed! waydroid helper is only one method of installing waydroid, but is also useful for stopping a waydroid session, and more. here's hoping my experience at least encourages you, and maybe others too. cheers, KJU

@MrT10001 yes, but trust me qemu static emulation or box64 can go a long way, not to mention you can just compile it on aarch64. if you use NixManager you can probably get all the compilation dependencies and compile natively on device.

Hello all The language is a funny thing but I would surmise that the goal is being able to communicate an idea more than having a true language. The goal is for a user to be able to install or fix it's installation. So techies will understand what the factory reset means. If someone is not tech savvy enough, then they will ask for direction or follow guides. When I'm in a situation where I don't understand something it doesn't matter what it's called. In my mind it's "succession_of_symbols". IMHO a good documentation gives a glossary so I can have a better idea what these symbols/names/terms/expressions mean. One who doesn't understand and "think" they can understand it just by dreaming or imagining an hypothetical meaning are fools. A scientist will make assumptions and test them in order to find things out. If it's an already know thing, then it's more efficient to just ask or search for the answer. To sum things up, I don't think it needs to be changed. But we might want to spread the word about what "Factory Reset" means, do and why.

@KJU Hello, TWRP, it seems, doesn't boot temporarily with my Ubuntu Touch bonito device in fastboot mode. 'fastboot boot twrp.img' gives 'no CMD or OS...' error. KJU
