@nostromov Since Ubuntu Touch does not use any form of assisted GPS at the moment, first lock can take up to 15 minutes and requires an instructed view of the sky for the initial fix.
After that it should be much quicker. And also operable indoors, until the caches satélite positions are no longer accurate (after a reboot or longer period (think days / weeks, not hours) of not using GPS.
