RE: Asus Zenfone ZB602KL issue
@mrt10001 Thanks very much. I'm sorry, I'm a bit impatient and decided to leave UT on this phone with a very mixed feeling. I'm on Lineage 19.1 now. Everything works as it should, no problem with the sd card, and I have fm radio, which is great. But the main thing is battery life. I know the battery on this device is not new and I have already purchased one. But hey, what a difference with LOS! I think a battery replacement is not necessary at the moment. The battery life is the biggest problem with UT, perhaps not on all devices.
I like UT very much and leaving this OS hurts. With my Volla I'm on SF OS, main advantage is also battery life, and of course the notch... Perhaps I come back when 20.04 is out to give it a try. In the meantime I use my old Nexus 7 with UT from time to time to check what happens. -
RE: Asus Zenfone ZB602KL issue
Did it. Nothing changes. The warning appears again while the device installs, no sd card access after the procedure.

RE: Asus Zenfone ZB602KL issue
@mrt10001 Thanks for your replay. I can format the card without any problems. But then nothing happens. I tried Sandisk and Kingston cards.
I wiped personal data when I installed the device. After I have noticed the issue I used the installer a second time -- but without wiping the data. That's a good point. I will try the whole procedure again. -
Asus Zenfone ZB602KL issue
Hello, I have already posted this topic in another thread but did not receive an answer so far. Let's try again:
I have no sd card access on my Asus Zenfone ZB602KL. When the device updates a warning appears: "E: [libfs_mgr]Warning: unknown flag resize"
What does this mean? Can anybody help? Thanks in advance. -
RE: Installing on the Asus Zenfone ZB602KL.....
Hello, It seems I made a step forward, but I can't solve the problem. Is anybody here who can help?
I realized that I have no access to the sd card. The warning has something to do with this issue I guess. I have to repeat the warning exactly:
"E: [libfs_mgr]Warning: unknown flag resize"
Is this a known issue? -
RE: Installing on the Asus Zenfone ZB602KL.....
Hello again, I'd like to repeat my question posted above. I get a warning after every update (I'm on dev channel at the moment). When the UB ports logo appears while the device installs the updates I can read "warning; unknown flag resize". Can anybody tell me what this means? Is something wrong with my installation? Or is it a general issue with the zenfone? tnx in advance.

RE: Installing on the Asus Zenfone ZB602KL.....
@mrt10001 My thoughts too. But I also have a very short wish list: another e-mail app and a working FM radio app. Browser is ok, but I think there are better FOSS alternatives available in f-droid.

RE: Installing on the Asus Zenfone ZB602KL.....
Ok, I understand. Another question: did you try Waydroid on the Asus?

RE: Installing on the Asus Zenfone ZB602KL.....
Hello friends, got my "new" Asus Zenfone ZB602KL these days and installed UT. I downloaded the unlock app and copied it to the phone and started it. No problem with the unlock procedure.
After the UT file transfer the installing screen apeared. It showed a Warning: something like "unknown flag resize". What does this mean? Any ideas?
The phone runs ok, but I could live without the unnecessary warning of the unlocked bootloader when it starts. Is there a way to remove this? -
RE: Buying an OP 5T
Friends, this thread ends in the wrong category. I'll get the ZenFone in a couple of days. Hope it will work ok. I found one for a fair price, the 4 GB version. I think there are more 3 GB models out in the used market. It also seems to be a rare device here in Europe. In the end this monster battery and the memory card slot make the difference for me. And of course the FM radio. Hope the FM app will support this device some day.
Thanks MrT10001 for bringing the ZenFone back in my mind. -
RE: Buying an OP 5T
What a dilemma again! The zenfone has a big battery, and - great - FM Radio, but an old micro USB connector and the older processor. The Pixel 3a XL is probably faster, but has no notification LED, but is still available brand new or at least new. The OP 5T has probably the best performance (with 6 or 8 GB RAM). A clear advantage: replacing the battery of the OP 5T seems to be rather easy. In this case the Pixel needs more skill, tools, luck... Battery life 3a XL vs OP 5T - hard to say (???). The 3a XL has the larger battery (the 3a the smaller).
BTW does it make a noticeable difference having 4, 6 or 8 GB RAM? -
RE: Buying an OP 5T
@moem @MrT10001 Thanks for your ideas. Only one day battery life is not that good imo. Ok, I do not use BT at the moment, most of the time I am in standby mode with mobile data on. The battery lasts 3-4 days. My alternative device is the Pixel 3a XL, which has a lager battery than the 5T. But it sounds a bit funny in my ears: dismissing G... software but using their hardware. The Redmi Note 7 is very hard to get where I live.

Buying an OP 5T
Hello Friends, I can't see this silly notch of the Volla any longer. So I think of getting another device, probably a Oneplus 5t. I read here that flohack is very busy in optimizing the device. But I am not sure about the battery life. I'd like to here some experiences from users. Is it a good idea, getting an OP 5t? Thanks in advance.

RE: Battery life......
I use UT for several years, first with a Nexus 5, Nexus 7, OPO, Mi A2 and a Volla. Phones with only 3000 mAh or less battery capacity are no longer on my wish list. Most of the older devices offer not more. The Volla is an advantage in this case. But I realized that the Volla with Sailfish OS runs noticeably longer. I did a test with Wifi turned on over the night with 2 Vollas. The one with UT had about 8% less battery capacity left in the morning. So I am on Sailfish now. But I want a UT phone as a 2nd device because UT has some other advantages for me. I thought of getting a Pixel 3a XL. The larger battery (lager than the 3a) in combination with an OLED display could be perhaps one the same level as the Volla (???). I don't know. I'd like to see the battery performance listed for each phone on the device overview site.

RE: Volla Phone or Fairphone 3/3+ or Redmi Note 9 Pro
Yeah, the Volla Phone 22 is coming soon. I will wait.

Volla Phone or Fairphone 3/3+ or Redmi Note 9 Pro
Hello everyone,
I don't know which is the best sub form for the following question, because there are only special device sections. But ok, let's try it here. I use UT for years (Nexus 5, 7 and OPO) and think of buying a new device which is more up to date. The Volla seems to be quite interesting because of the company support. It has the fm radio feature which perhaps works sooner or later, and it also has a large battery. The Fairphone has changeable battery but with only 3000mAh. The Redmi comes also with a large battery and the fm feature and is the cheapest of the three. All in all the question is: which phone has the better performance for surfing through the web or watching videos from yt or news sites.
I'd like to here some experiences from other UT users who already tried or compared these phones. Thanks very much! -
RE: Volla Phone X in practice
Keep in mind the display resolution of the VP X is only 1560 x 720. The main camera has 13 + 2 MP. Sometimes perhaps not enough.
