So I had a chance to use the X23 today while running errands. I was in Brantford, Ancaster, Onondaga, as well as other parts of Brant county, to give those in Ontario an idea. Overall signal strength was good in urban parts and poor in rural ones. In my basement at home I was in and out as to whether I could even send a text or make a call as I am out in the boonies. . This wasn't the case when I had an X23 on Volla OS a couple years ago. Some good news is that it picked up my APN right away. I did however have to manually input the APN settings. After that internet worked on mobile data right away. I tried sending a picture via text and it failed though so MMS is not quite there. VOLTE support was listed on my cell menu so that is a good sign. I've been considering a switch to Rogers for other reasons so if I do make that change i'll make an updated post about that experience.

RE: Need a Way to View My Login Info To Login To Various Apps
So I tried Tedit but it wouldn't display the contents of the plaintext document. I also exported my db to a csv file but sorting through that garbled mess was going to be a chore. I then remembered that there was a Bitwarden app so I downloaded that but it no longer works as of last year according to Github issues. I next tried to load the Bitwarden website but Morph and uWolf wouldn't display the page. I then finally found a way. I created a note with the logins I needed on Nextcloud and synced Jotit Cloud Notes with my account which brought the note down so I could copy and paste the data. A happy ending. Still better than typing out multiple 40 character passwords manually.

RE: Unlocking OEM on UT
I ordered a Volla X23 with Volla OS and they sent me a X23 with Ubuntu Touch by accident. Rather than deal with shipping it back and dealing with customs a second time I figured I could try to use the Ubuntu Touch Installer to put Volla OS on it but I got an "unknown error" and at that point the phone reboots at the Volla logo. I can reinstall Ubuntu Touch to be back at square one but that is it. I was conversing via email with Dr. Jörg Wurzer who asked if I had unlocked the bootloader and said that "You need unlock OEM lock at first to be able to unlock the bootloader. ". I already have an X23 with Ubuntu Touch, the point of the second X23 was to use it to try out other operating systems without needing to flash a main phone.

RE: Trying to Move From Ubuntu Touch To Volla OS on X23
@TakoR said in Trying to Move From Ubuntu Touch To Volla OS on X23:
@Simmonz Hi there, mate. Was the bootloader unlocked when you attempted the downgrade?
More than likely not but that is looking like it's own issue. I tried unlocking it with the X23 in fastboot mode and plugging it into my pc and using terminal.
here is the output from using the command "fastboot flashing unlock":
fastboot flashing unlock
FAILED (remote: 'Prohibit unlock operation
')
fastboot: error: Command failedI also tried "fastboot oem unlock":
fastboot oem unlock
FAILED (remote: 'unknown command')
fastboot: error: Command failed -
Trying to Move From Ubuntu Touch To Volla OS on X23
I have two X23's and wanted to move one to Volla OS. I figured I would use the Ubuntu Touch installer and choose Volla OS. It gave me an "unknown error". I opened an issue on Github but no idea when this could be resolved. Other than the Ubuntu Touch Installer is there any other way I can move from Ubuntu Touch to Volla OS ?

RE: uWolf (LibreWolf)
I'm loving uWolf so far but have a question. One thing I am having issues with is that I can't seem to copy and paste from any source such as another app like Morph or Jottit into the password box in uWolf when trying to sign into my Firefox account. It will allow me to copy/paste my email for my login but not the password. Is this expected behavior ? Was thinking it had something to do with X/11>mir issues but I have no idea.

Unlocking OEM on UT
On Android I know how to unlock OEM and how to enable USB Debugging. Someone told me in regards to an issue I was having that I had to do that on Ubuntu Touch. Just to clarify there is no way to unlock OEM through the UT OS is there ? Only way that comes to mind other than when on Android is through Fastboot commands and the terminal when plugged into a PC correct ?

RE: probably bricked my X23 trying to flash VollaOS properly
Replying to this because here we are a year later and I had the exact same thing happen to me. I had ordred a second X23 to mess around with and ordered it with Volla OS but it came with UT and am having the same errors as you. Two questions:
-
What is "sideloading" ? Is it a different way of saying dual booting ?
-
Any chance I can get those zip files off you in some way or form ?

Need a Way to View My Login Info To Login To Various Apps
So I can't get KeePass to open my password database from KeePassXC. I tried creating a new database using a KDBX3 instead of KDBX4 and still just never opens it. I then had the idea of copying the login info for my programs into a text file but I can't seem to find a program on Ubuntu Touch that will open a plain text document. I can't send it via email as the email account is one of the logins I need. I don't want to temporarily change the passwords to a bunch of things. I don't want to manually type out multiple 40 character passwords. Any other ideas ? I'm on a Volla X23 using OTA-9 of 20.04.

RE: Snaps Questions
Makes sense. I had that same issue when trying out Waydroid on FuriOS for my FLX1.
