    • RE: UT kernel security question

Thanks for your answers. I was just taking these 2 flaws as examples to understand the workflow in such cases. Still interesting to know that these 2 are not affecting us too much.

So if I correctly understood patching the kernel would be responsibility of the port maintainer(s).

    • UT kernel security question

      Hello,

hopefully I am in the right section... I am just wondering how are kernel security issues handled in UT. Let's take as an example the 2 last ones (dirty frag and copy fail). Is it the responsibility of the maintainer(s) of the device to push a new kernel or some other group? How do I get such updates?

      Thanks

You can also use the msmDownloadTool to completely reset everything, if you suspect you had a bad flash at some point. See the forum, same category as the above link.

You are right. I was trying to prevent using a Windows for this but at this point it probably makes sense.

Any place to follow the development of 24.04 for that device?

Thank you so much for your help!

If someone could tell me the exact version of OxygenOS (meaning 9.x.x.x) which works for them I would be interested. Like this if I flash it and it's still unstable I will suspect more a problem of battery.

@rocket2nfinity thanks a lot for your feedback. And also for the potential future 24.04, that would be awesome.

I believe the battery is fine, it's nearly 12 hours that it was charged and it's still at 65%. But It's a good hint that could be the problem if voltage fluctuates actually when the modem is being active.

I was also wondering if it could be linked to the OxygenOS release which I restored. I think I restored the latest 9 version sub release. Any Oxygen 9 version should work right?

      Hello everyone

I hope there are still active users around!

I am new to Ubuntu touch coming from postmarketos. Very nice first impression.

I had a hard way restoring OxygenOS 9 to my device but it worked. I then used the debian installer to install Ubuntu touch 20.04.

Everything looked perfect and I was proud to give this new toy to my son. But then we made a test call and the phone rebooted. Another one and it switched off immediately.
Then it worked but still made a bunch of random reboots.

Is that a known issue with this phone?
