        It there a setting that I can activate to allow me to take pictures from my phone without having to unlock it? Even when you swipe from the left, you still have to unlock the phone.

          @ukphil I may be wrong but I haven't seen one. You could try disabling the screen security completely but I for one would not recommend that as a long term solution.

                the androids i have used ,will let you open the camera app, but not let you take a photo until it is unlocked .

                  @Marathon2422 my current andriod (Samsung s5) will allow you to use the camera app, take photos and view them without unlocking the phone, but you cannot view pictures previously taken (in the gallery) without unlocking it. This is a very useful feature.

                    I will have to check out the wifes S6,while she's not looking

                    Yes the S6 does that also,camera functions while locked ,but no access to gallery.
                    She always has it set to minimum battery use, Google background stuff eats it up.
