      OTA-11.
It works in Nexus 7 (flo) but not in Nexus 5 (hammerhead). I thought it's a hardware feature?

@dreamwebspace It's working nicely with my Nexus 5 (hammerhead).
So yes it's probable a hardware failure with your device.
        I'm on stable OTA 11

@dreamwebspace Humm seems strange that installing a software would break anything 😊

All I can say is that Qi charging is alright with mine. If it doesn't work on yours then there is something else...
            Good luck.
Have you tried charging with a cable then stopping putting it on the Qi charger and see what happens ?
Maybe a reboot may help or maybe it's just an issue with the indicator (on mine it works fine)

@dreamwebspace It is very unlikely that we can break any hardware on your device. We use the same Android kernel that Android is using, so all low-level things are guarded by that.

You might want to switch briefly to LineageOS and see if it works there.

Please do not make assertions about what Ubuntu Touch does or does not if you have no evidence.

I have a Nexus 5 (Hammerhead) with latest updates and the wireless charging has been working. A few days ago the cheap wireless charger pad purchased from a popular auction site melted a little and stopped working. I'd like to get a better quality version soon because the Qi charging is a nice feature.

Edit: The Nexus 5 phone itself is just fine and working well.

I guess this is a hardware issue?

@kugiigi It seems so! I have a power-bank with wireless capabilities and a normal wireless charger and both work normally with my Nexus 5.

@kugiigi My Nexus 5 charges wirelessly. If you have a thick cover or a clip at the back or any metal in the rear of the cover it will interfere with charging.

@cliffcoggin I took off the back of both my Nexus 5. Turns out the contacts points do not make contact on both devices. I've fixed one of them by some plastic bending power LOL
The other is still in-progress. Anyway, thanks!

@kugiigi I started with a cheap (Β£5) QI charger from China, and although it worked, it was not easy to align it with the Nexus charging coil. I replaced I with an Anker charger that looks like a book rest and ensures good alignment.

@cliffcoggin I actually have 2 because the first one is really cheap and I thought it was defective so I refunded without returning. Then I bought a not so expensive from Xiaomi. Both works but I still need to bend this plastic cover a bit more πŸ˜†
