Didn't find any option to do so, UT Tweak Tool has an option to do so, but not working on home screen, only for apps, maybe it'll be updated.

Édit : but maybe your question was about hiding in apps?

Earlier the launcher stayed hidden. Now, it is just another thing that takes space. In the N5, it is just wasting space. The App Drawer is enough. I would be happy, if the launcher could be disabled, uninstalled, by default.

I did. I'd like it to stay out by default, system-wise. 🙂
Not using any tweak tool, but by default.

I want to have a clean look. It is just there wasting space and making the phone look thinner than it is. I'd like a way to uninstall it from the system, not from a tweak tool. Just a suggestion to devs. 🙂

FYI, the UT Tweak can make it autohide and make it thin, up to 6, but it is still ugly, to have it on the left. So, would like to get rid of it permanently.

Do what you want, UTTT is a must have app and should be part of system default apps, and sure some options it gives will be implemented in futur, but as for now it's the only simple way to do what you want.

Fill an issue on ubports or UTTT git, or both.

@chdslv Well, you can do this too, you put Sprint as the home, so you put the picture without the sidebar and add some apps you usually use.

How can you trust that an app really won't send some company your location data, when you tell it not to? The only way you can trust a program not to do something it isn't supposed to do is if it is free software. ~ RMS

@Keneda Sprint is an app that you can add apps to the screen. When an app is open, the sidebar is hidden and you don't see it.

I think it's been removed from the Openstore

Going a bit OT on the launcher thing now. Maybe a new thread on alternatives but I think they are already on the Forum somewhere.

Congratulations on the the new OTA-12. I just got it last night and so far I'm loving all the new features. I was pleasantly surprised to find there is a new 'charging' light on my Nexus 5, which was very cool. The new side-bar/home screen/phone-top looks great and I like the navigation. (Although now I feel I have to update my dated background). Thanks for all your hard work.

I don't know. I've not been reading threads much.
I just upgraded it yesterday. On the looks matter, I wish I didn't. I never liked the Launcher, even in the Unity8 for desktop days. For a mobile, it is an unnecessary item. 🙂

As someone who has been running the developer channel for a long time, trust me, you'll get used to it. I find myself trying to use the same gestures when I'm on my android device and get frustrated by how android does it. Could the aidebar be improved? Sure. All in due time.

Congrats to the team on a fantastic release and looking forward to what ota-13 and the rest of 2020 has in store for the project.

I know, i saw this on an other topic today, i tried it, but i prefer shape and approach of launcher modular (not fan of androïd styled appbar anyway). Sprint could be a "page" in launcher modular.

                                            BTW Thanks.
