MMS image quality

Hi,
Here is my problem, if i send an image (photo or not) with MMS app, it gets compressed, way too much, resulting image is very poor.
Here in France, one MMS can be up to 600KB, i just tested with a 3.5 MB photo sent to myself, i get a 52KB image in return.
Can i do something to make it better?

@keneda I have found something interesting tested on my BQ E5 HD that you can check :
.jpg photos are compressed as you say, If i choose a big photo for example, 2,5 mb, it is compressed to a very little file of 50 kb for example.
.png ARE NOT COMPRESSED. I can send a file to a max size of 600 kb. Bigger is impossible.
A workaround, i have found is for a jpg photo < 600 kb is to replace the extension by png : the file received seems to be however a jpeg BUT not compressed !!

@domubpkm Thanks, good to know, but for photos taken with APN file is always above 600KB, that's this case that made me do this thread.
I had another workaround before, using instanpho reduced size of a file when processed with it, and quality with "same" file sent by MMS was better after using it (maybe output file was PNG, i don't know), but for now it no longer works.
Anyway best would be to have photos/images compressed to the max size possible, 600KB, jpg or png ^^

@keneda We can also take a screenshot of a big photo : i think it should work..

@keneda
MMS allows multiple files IIRC and that's the total that's limited to 600KB.
So you have to know how many picture one would send before compressing them.It seems that the choice was made to compress below 60KB to allow 10 pictures.
Compressing just before sending can be a solution...

I mean, I suppose the current behavior is:
select a picture, add it to the message.
In the message app it is compressed.
Then the user can insert another picture or add text before sending. We can imagine a scenario where when the user tap on the send button, the attachment pictures are then compressed and then the message is sent.

That was the behavior i though it had, but yes that would be the right thing to do.
