Telegram application on Nexus 5 working for others?

If your not using the web telegram app, try that version it works better for me.

Hi @vadrian89. I had some initial teething troubles getting Telegram going on my Nexus 5 - I had to clear the cache iirc.

I've not managed to join the ubports group on the phone app either - others have suggested it works with the desktop app (but I haven't tried that either).

Be careful with secret chats, they never worked properly and can cause wonderful results. I suggest you delete again everything that is in your .config/com.....etcetc..telegram folder. Then, just start it, complete again the first time installation.

Optional: Send me a log from .cache/upstart/application-click-com...etcetc..telegram

Also a white screen denotes initial network problems, when it cant reach the server. It has always been like that, origianl developers did not expect that internet can fail

I have deleted the config and cache directories of telegram but still won't work.
The cache directory does not contain any files so I cannot send any logs.

@vadrian89 Tried again tonight after latest updates. Nexus 5 now getting rpc error error_code ::42 0 error message FLOOD_WAIT
Says I'm performing to many actions. Same thing 12 hours apart. Not sure if this is something I've done or not. Will try again later, an old version of web telegram is still working.

@Lakota the webtelegram app is barely working itself. With it I could receive message, as I received Unkown device connected warning after registering the application.
But couldn't add Ubports supergroup as I got an error.... something about parameters... can't remember.

@vadrian89 Really not sure then. Got Telegram app running again but not with ubports group, but uttered will work with the web version.

I have exactly the same issue on my Fairphone2. I just had it, install UT successfully (15.04 rc). I install telegram application from the open store, but I cannot search a group, there is no button for that. When I go to contact or to new group, it is in endless loading loop. In the scope, when I try to search, I have no keyboard and I cannot paste in the search field.
I do not know what t do.

It is strange to hear this as I have three devices and they are all running the Telegram app all OK. I have not had any issues at all and not had any reason to use the Web app.

@UKPhil I'm used to use the command-line client 'telegram-cli' on my UNIX laptops and netbooks (they all run FreeBSD). The big advantage of the 'telegram-cli' there is, you can type fast and longer text using a real keyboard.

One problem with the Telegram app is, that it does not support so called Super-groups:
