No Internet Connectivity - Andbox & Libertine
-
Hi Everyone,
Having a go with UT with my Mi Note 9S and love the ability to load desktop and android applications with all the other benefits you get from UT.
Trying to load a browser such as firefox in libertine and duckduckgo in andbox, the app seem to be working fine but in both cases these is no internet connectivity.
Some details about my device:
- Redmi Note 9S
- Wifi connected
- Also have connection to 4G
There was a mention somewhere that this is a known issue and was wondering if anyone else was experiencing no internet connectivity in andbox and libertine and if they managed to get around the issue?

@applee thanks heaps will try waydroid and see how that goes. the weird thing in both cases andbox and libertine apps look perfect and work as expected apart from network connectivity.

@sportyturks - info on how to run Firefox-esr 78 in a Libertine container is at https://forums.ubports.com/topic/5810/using-firefox-with-ut-in-2021?_=1636015101116&lang=en-GB

Hi @sportyturks
Your device is based on Halium10 according to:
https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/device/curtana/Anbox is not working for those ports so Waydroid was developed to improve the situation.
You might want to try Waydroid on you device instead of Anbox.
For Libertine, sorry I don't have any idea but give it time. -
@sportyturks Just to add, we have a Libertine section here https://forums.ubports.com/category/101/libertine and Waydroid info is http://www.waydro.id/ and https://t.me/WayDroid

@TotalSonic you're awesome. I'm new to ut and read you're post before I tried it, thanks heaps. it did help out but for some reason same as andbox no internet connection. there was a bug somewhere saying that the wrong network interface was being used in the container for andbox, wondering if it's the same for libertine.
thanks for you're quick response

Before installing waydroid, beware of uninstalling properly anbox. -
@keneda thanks heaps. Yeap reflashed and can confirm waydroid working well, so well I'm posting using a browser from waydroid
Couldn't find a clean way to remove and box without re-flashing.
