Screen dimmer (below minimum)?
-
I often wish the screen had a dimmer setting. Is this possible?

Hi @777funk
There is one.
In the notification bar, swipe down on the battery icon.
There is a slider to adjust the screen luminosity. But "below minimum"?! By definition it's not possible.
On most device the minimum is screen off, so that should work. -
@777funk You have a mechanism in system parameters with the path:
Security and privacy
Locking and unlocking
Lock in case of inactivity : choose the delay -
Just "pull" down from the top of the screen on the battery icon and there is the slidder and an Adjust Brightness Automatically button.

I should have been a little more clear. Sorry about that! I find that the lowest setting is too bright at times.
In Android there are a few screen dimming apps (display filter) and I find this to be much better.
So what I'm asking, is there a way to go below the minimum "slider" setting? I don't want zero brightness obviously (screen off) but would like the range say between 10% and 60% that's missing to be available. I would call the GUI slider to be between 60-100% of the phone's available brightness. It'd be nice if there were less brightness available.

@777funk In case I missed it what phone is this? On mine the screen is nearly black at the lowest setting (FP4). Will check OP5 and Pixel 3a later.
Edit. Both the 3a and OP5 are now on 20.04 so are not really user ready but both get really dim using the slider. -
Thanks and its a Nexus 5. I appreciate the reply.

@777funk
I had the trusty Nexus 5. I agree the brightness level can seem "too" bright when using it in pitch black environment.
But I doubt the hardware is able to do less. For tinkering with the brightness on the PinePhone I can tell that Ubuntu Touch gives what it can get from the drivers. So, sorry but I doubt you can have less light expect using a dark theme. Even more so the Nexus 5 has a LCD display, not an OLED one, so backlight is on for the full screen.
