Any mail app?
-
Hi all!
Do we have any mail apps that is still maintained and will be included in Focal channel? This kind of app seems to be 'basic' nowadays...I need something with notification of incoming messages.
Dekko 2 seems to be abandoned (last update 2 years ago). -
@ktatar156 : I use Dekko2 on a daily basis, with 2 POP3 email accounts. It works well (for me).
To check new messages I simply go to the Inbox and then do a swipe down gesture. You see a rotating circle indicating it's checking mail servers for new mail.
It might be possible to have real time notification without above action by preventing app suspension for Dekko2 with Ubuntu Touch Tweak Tool, but I don't need it so haven't tried.
Maybe someone else can tell something about it. -

@keneda Thanks, but I think that doesn't solve our future problems - lack of support for upcoming Focal update. I also tried imap and add my Google account, but without any success

@ktatar156 Some people are working to bring dekko2 to focal at the moment. I think if focal will become the new stable there also will be a compatible dekko2-release.

@ktatar156 Work is being done on Dekko2 for Focal how long it will be not sure.

@ktatar156 I seem to remember reading on here somewhere that there is a now a problem adding gmail accounts to dekko2 due to security/authentication changes on the Google side of the fence. There might be a workaround, you will have to do a search for the details I'm afraid.
Edit:
I think I found the info you need, try this thread:-
