Can Morph's black-/whitelist be password protected?
-
Hello,
I got a quick question: When I create a whitelist in morph, can I protect it with a password so my kids can't change it?
Thanks!

Probably worth logging a feature request on Gitlab
Have you also tried using Jade Diamond? It is password protected and you whitelist instead of blacklist. -

My understanding is that morph must be password protected ( i opened https://gitlab.com/ubports/development/core/morph-browser/-/issues/379 a long time ago ) so that only Jade is safe to use. So maybe also install a password on Sapot?

@domubpkm There's still no proper API for authentication so that would mean making the app unconfined and I kinda want to retain confinement in Sapot

Jade Diamond seems to be a good approach. But only if it's my phone. When I want the phone to be my kid's, I neither can't uninstall Morph nor use a different password for Jade Diamond...
They use UT for quite a time as music player and for a bit of gaming but without internet. But it seems like they can't keep their UT phones, when it comes to the usage of the internet...EDIT: Just saw I can delete Morph using UT Tweak Tool. But can I reinstall it if needed since it's not in the Openstore?

I can delete Morph using UT Tweak Tool.
With UT Tweak Tool, you can ONLY delete cache, config, data. You cannot uninstall morph this way, as it is a built-in app in UT. So morph will still be usable because it's unprotected.

@jojumaxx That is cool but I can't think of any other way. As mentioned, you can't really uninstall Morph. You can maybe hide it if you delete/rename its desktop file if you're knowledgeable with sme tinkering.
If you really need it, I'll try creating a special build of Sapot for you

I'd never ask to do that
I am just looking for a way to let my kids use a browser with access to few whitelisted pages.
Jade Diamond would do the trick if the passcode wasn't the same as the system pin.
That is because, like I mentioned before, my kids use my older UT phones as their devices as media players without access to any network.
That seems not too simple on Android either and even if it was, I don't wanna switch to Android.
But I can't be the only one with a need for such an option. It would be great, if someone would address this request...

@jojumaxx I'll consider this in the future of Sapot. I don't have experience with this use case though so I'll probably have to ask around when that time comes

@kugiigi Great, thanks
