@Hugehead Just a workaround, but did you try rotating the phone 90 degrees?
-
@Ian Well, this is indeed just a workaround and not the answer to my question either. The idea behind notification indicator or notification led is to make is faster/simpler for user to see if new messages arrived. I could also just check the messengers myself one by one.
So some workaround adding additional steps to check for new messages does not really fit to the idea of the notifiers that should simplify the process. -
Hello @Hugehead , What device do you have? Are you on Focal or Xenial?
-
@Bolly First question: Does it matter? I hoped there would be a system wide implementation to solve it.
I have OP 6 focal but reverted to xenial because it was not working well (camera crashed, time resets, ...)

I was talking about the led, not the notch. But I see you use an OP6.

Look at this in Xenial it works, in Focal I don't know. Sorry for not giving you a better solution, as you see I am also waiting for the led on my VollaPhone 22 device.

@Bolly Thanks, let me give it a try to move the Notifier, great idea! The patch itself didn't help much, it rounded corners but the notifier was still hidden. In focal it was not possible to install due to "no space left" when apt update ran.
-
@Hugehead I use the following script on my 6T with Xenial: https://github.com/JamiKettunen/lomiri-notch-hax
Icons are still hidden underneath the notch, but atleast it pushes the notification envelope enough to the left.

Thank you all for the very helpful workarounds. I put the notifier on "22" and can see it now. I have installed the patch but that did not bring the notifier to correct position BUT corrected the clock and other views.

@kristatos Still, my question is:
will there be a Solution coming to UT. Not a workaround, patch or dirty solution but a real solution that does not need the user to hack around
-
@Hugehead Someone is working on it and you can probably see its progress if you look for it on Gitlab. It will come soon, don't worry
I have my own hack that may be better than the notch hack. You can actually adjust the margins for the rounded corners and notch/punchhole however it's a much bigger hack that includes a lot more so it's not easy to recommend. If you're willing to take the risk, you can PM me on telegram
