How is this possible. I keep seeing post about UT running on the Volla X23. Well after almost a year I finally got UT running as a dual boot OS. But when I boot into that OS it does not support any phone that does not support VOLTE. T-Mobile puts that front and center on their web site. So now you have to pass the IMEI security check you also have to have passed the VOLTE check. So the Volla X23 tells you on their website they do not support VOLTE. So question, how do you have people saying they have a Volla X23 running as their daily driver they are NOT talking about a USA based phone. That is EU only, not for anyone in North America. AM I correct? There are no Volla X23 phones that work in the US. If thats true then why do both of my X23 SIMs work under AT&T and I get mobile data on both. So if I boot to VOL13 or what ever version the Linage 21 with Micro G installed is, it works perfectly on both SIMs, text and calls. Boot to UT and no more phones on either SIM. Its not that it cant find them, it sees both, they just dont work on the network anymore.

            Hi @spodie

It's hard to follow your thoughts as you're throwing in a lot of completely different things.

VoLTE is not yet support on Ubuntu Touch.
If your service provider phased out 2G and 3G you will not be able to make a call on Ubuntu Touch.

Any device support different frequencies and might work in some countries and not others. Volla phones are made in Germany, so compatibility in Europe is pretty good, but it can vary outside of the EU.

Then you also mentioned the SIM which is supported by your service provider and should work on any device. But depending on your provider, the service could differ.

From what I have found out from TheKit is that most parts needed for voLTE are merged but have not reached 20.04 Devel yet. When volte is working there may still be an issue with the x23 in the USA may well be the bands and the up coming Quintus may be a better option.
