@carl said in Call for testing: Ubuntu Touch 20.04 OTA-8:

unable to make or receive call

This is a known issue with the pixel 3a / 3a XL. A fix is ready, but will be included in a follow up RC.

@Vlad-Nirky Have you tried refreshing your diary after adding the item by pressing the little arrow at the top?
Sometimes it can take up to 24 hours to synchronise with Google Calendar. I suggest you check your Google calendar online tomorrow.

Yes, several times, i have tried too to restart the device.
And after sync, the event was deleted.
Now, every event is placed on my google calendar...

At this point, no regression observed on the Volla 22 although finding 4G seems quite long after a start-up of Volla 22 via the stages: no network, 2G, 3G, 4G. The succession of steps can take more than 30 seconds. Maybe normal ?

Hello friend, just to inform you that you reply got my attention. I have addressed before using Google Pixel 3a XL an issue of not possible to remove a picture to contact after setting it up.

As I understand that it is now possible to add and remove a picture from a contract easily !!!.

                          Thanks.

The calendar sync is not as stable as we would like. Sometimes no issues, and sometimes it get stuck for whatever reason, and we have to remove account, reboot, recreate one.
Hope that the upcoming contact sync framework will make it more robust.

I would like to help testing OTA-8 on my Volla X, but I don't dare: I'm on RC channel and the downloaded version (to be installed) is version 19.
Is version 19 the same as OTA-8?

I'm really hoping that an APNDB update that appears to have been backported to Focal 20.04 will fix a long-standing issue I've been experiencing where after a few months, photo messaging just completely stops working.

                                  https://gitlab.com/ubports/development/core/packaging/lineageos-apndb/-/merge_requests/2

I only have one single phone, wish I could actively contribute for RC but also, my issue usually manifests several months later and that isn't going to help an RC window that closes in 1 to 2 weeks anyways. I can't for now use my daily driver for testing.

Looking forward to more VoLTE supported phones!(FairPhone4 here) Thanks to all who have helped with this release.

Hello. Do you happen to know if your Volla Phone 22 runs Ubuntu Touch based on Halium 12 or not? If your Volla Phone 22 has a replacement screen, then it is running Ubuntu Touch based on Halium 12.

@peat_psuwit MMS no longer work on my Volla 22 with the last RC !! I no longer know with the previous one.

When I attach a photo of the gallery plus a text and I throw the sending, everything disappears for more than 8 seconds and after the photo and the text reappear but are not sent (wheel which turns endless).

                                          SMS ok.

@Bolly Hello. What is your data provider ? For me, it is Bouygues. I want to be sure the problem doesn't come from this. I notice, when it switch back to stable (OTA-7), now i can't send and receive MMS too..

Edit : So, I went to a Bouygues store and the sending of MMS normally works with one of their line and an Android phone. The problem therefore does not seem to come from them. Reflasher the Volla 22 Ota-7 with the installer (without erasure of data) did not solve the problem. The APN is identical to that when the MMS operated @peat_psuwit
