@frifo I am talking about Windows device manager, not the MSM Download tool. The device has to be in the correct EDL state to be detected by the MSM tool.

I installed ubuntu touch before to Oneplus n100. In this phone windows not anymore offered drivers. I downloaded oneplus drivers for windows from oneplus website and I needed to change windows to test mode to use drivers. I used windows 10. After I changed test mode back to normal mode.

@davids I have never had to do that on Windows. The device is always picked up properly. Unfortunately MSM tool on Linux doesn't work . When connected, what shows up under COM ports in Windows Device. Manager? This is important as it can be in another mode that is picked up, but that mode won't work with MSM Download tool.

@MrT10001 This issue was mentioned in XDA, n100 model.

              My device isn't detected

Go to device manager and make sure your phone shows up as QDLOADER 9008.
If it shows up as QHUSB_BULK, it means Qualcomm driver wasn't installed automatically by Windows Update. Download the latest one from Microsoft website at... their links not work anymore.

@davids Install the Qualcomm driver and service what happens when you connect the device. I am not on my PC, but download one from somewhere with the usual precautions and all seems fine.

@MrT10001 It was issue that windows picked wrong driver even I installed oneplus original driver. I got it work in windows test mode. I'm not sure why it not changed, maybe reason was my internet connection because it was not worked good.

Sorry, that it took some days to answer.

In the Device Manager are no COM ports listed.
                    Only USB:

                    USB-Controller
                    -Intel(R) USB 3.10 eXtensible_hostcontroller-1.10 (Microsoft)
                    -USB-Root-Hub (USB 3.0)
                    -USB-Verbundgerät
                    USB-Geräte
                    -Camera DFU Device

                      I use Windows 11 Pro.
In the Device Manager the phone is shown as QUSB_BULK_xxx:xxxx_SN:xxxxxxxx when it is on.

I plugged in the phone to windows 11 pro (phone was on) and Explorer showed the following files

                      CD-Drive (D:) OnePlus Drivers\OnePlus_USB_Drivers_Setup.exe
                      CD-Drive (D:) OnePlus Drivers\OnePlus_setup.exe
                      CD-Drive (D:) OnePlus Drivers\adb_config_Linux_OSX.sh
                      CD-Drive (D:) OnePlus Drivers\AndroidFileTransfer.dmg
                      CD-Drive (D:) OnePlus Drivers\autorun.inf

I copied the files to the PC, started Windows 11 Pro in Safe mode and executed booth exe-files.
After that I started Windows again in normal mode.
In the Device Manager the phone is still QUSB_BULK_xxx:xxxx_SN:xxxxxxxx when it is on and plugged in.

Startin in EDL Mode still doesn't work.

@frifo Can you confirm to have installed the correct Qualcomm-drivers in advance before proceeding? As mentioned in another post: As BULK is shown in device manager it should be a sign for a missing or wrong driver installed.

I remember once having to use Windows Test Mode, as @davids mentioned, when I was having trouble with Oneplus drivers. I can't remember now if it was with OP5T or with OPN10.
But what I remember is that I couldn't get it to recognize my device properly, and then when I used Test Mode it worked.
                          Could be worth a try?

@frifo Please note that Test Mode is different than Safe Mode. I'd never used it before. A web search should yield instructions.
                          Good luck!

                            Now I tried as follows:

                            Bios: Secure Boot [Disabled]
                            PC new start
right mouse click: Start menu - „Terminal (Administrator)“.
                            bcdedit /set testsigning on
                            PC new start
                            OnePlus_setup.exe install
                            OnePlus_USB_Drivers_Setup.exe install
right mouse click: Start menu - „Terminal (Administrator)“.
                            bcdedit /set testsigning off
                            PC new start
Start MsmDownloadTool V4.0 as Administrator - Klick Start - Other - Next - Start
Phone hold Volume Up and Volume Down, plug in USB-cable, release Volume Up and Volume Down
                            *** Nothing happens ***
                            Bios: Secure Boot [Enabled]

The files I used I had downloaded from my switched on OnePlus Nord N10 5G phone via USB-cable, becaus I could not find USB-Drivers on the OnePlus homepage.
