New device, clean install, going through the initial setup.
I get to WiFi setup, select network, enter password, get a "Connected" status under selected network. And then nothing else...
My options are to go back or skip WiFi setup which I have done already and initially that seemed like it was not an issue but after a reboot my phone was unable to even detect any WiFi networks around it.

Here is what I have done to troubleshoot so far:
Re-flashed Android 13 factory image and tested hardware - connects to WiFi fine
Skipped setting up wireless (see above)
Re-downloaded appimage, re-ran installer again (after flashing Android 13) - same result
Tried different cable type and USB port on my machine (using known good cable from installing UT on Pixel 3a)

        Installing from:
        CachyOS rolling
        Kernel 6.15.6-2

Any info on troubleshooting, steps to try, where to report issues etc etc is greatly appreciated!
        Thanks

Report issues on the Gitlab issue tracker for Fairphone 5. I'm out in the woods, so I can't find the direct link right now, but I imagine you'll find the issue tracker somewhere near the source code listed on the device page.

            Update:
It seems the WiFi is never actually connected at all. This happens on 2.5 and 5Ghz networks. It seems like it attempts to connect, and then endlessly prompts for the password.

I can also eliminate this from being install related, grabbed a new USB cable (A to C), used another port, threw Ubuntu on a spare SSD, Installed the actual installer from the software store (prob snap) and did a fresh install there with the same results. I am flashing the factory 13 image prior to this as well and testing WiFi there.

From what I have seen online it almost sounds like everyone else with a FP5 is not having WiFi issues...

There are possibly network isses in recent devel images since I encountered some recently. Do you have a sim card inserted? because in my experience that fixed most of the issues I encountered. I still get some reboots though just toggling wifi, hotspot and mobile data.

Interesting you ask that, I did not have a sim in when I setup the device. I threw a sim in and that worked after resetting and restarting the phone. However the WiFi is refusing to accept the password and it icon for WiFi in the top status bar is flashing super fast like its glitching.

                -Update
Now the WiFi icon is gone and its not finding any networks around me...

I cleared everything I could find cached in the installer and switched from Devel to Daily and now my WiFi works.

Not exactly sure how practical daily'ing a "daily release" will be, but thus far it seems better than Devel considering my WiFi situation.

@Futura What do you mean "Daily"? I don't think FP5 has a Stable channel yet

In the installer go to Settings/Show hidden System-Image Builds, in the drop down where the devel build is there is a ----hidden builds---- section with what I am assuming is a alpha build they call "daily" and most cases its referred to as a "nightly" build.

I had isolated this to not be something environmental like the OS I am installing from, the installer I am using, a cable or port etc etc. Installing another build and having it work means there is 100% something off with the WiFi/Modem settings in the devel build that is not present in the daily build.

Have you tried restarting the wifi router or changing the network?
I've had my phone not connect to wifi in the past and that was the problem.

I went to sign up for telegram and they never sent the SMS code to verify my phone number with.
Shame its not somewhere more accessible..

I did try both and brought the device to another network with no luck. After a couple of restarts the phone would fail to even see any wifi networks around it.

@Futura Oh I see. That's the Noble image (Ubuntu 24.04). I guess it's more stable or less buggy than focal 😄
