*WIP* [port] orange pi 5 original

@oldbutndy lol actually im kinda new myself ....one thing you must realize is UT is NOT like standard linux! ....i misread that in the beginning and was kinda upset because it was not what i expected ....however after some time i relented and started researching clickable development ......ubuntu touch is a VERY strict contained runtime environment in which EVERYTHING is isolated from the system as well as the system is isolated ...so this is very secure ....in fact before i saw you post i was thinking i cannot believe three letter agencies and governments are not dropping serious money on this project ......but yeah for me its a blankish canvas i can mold ....so long as i master its creation ...the community is kind and helpful and rather diverse .....ubuntu touch future is a vision the whole community can take part in that alone makes it worth it

@oldbutndy but mainly on any pi its to facilitate adoption im also working on a new x86_64 port ....as i release all i have in store for UT i will cover a broad range from programming tools games game emulators system tools ..i.e file archivers ...networking tools file sharing ect EVERYTHING ....eventually a desktop style UI will become desirable as convergence with lomiri picks up and it is

Yes, the spreading UT is GOOD, if that enlarges user base enough to help all around.

....one thing you must realize is UT is NOT like standard linux! ...I realize UT is NOT really like Debian, Ubuntu, LM, in the ways you mention (I did use the word 'closer'...), and you left out 'read only'.

I got an orange pi 5 too and even though I'll not be running ubuntu touch on it I can give two other answers for the why:
- Other than Mediatek Genio, rk3588 is one of the most powerful and recent (relatively speaking) boards supported by mainline linux, so this can be a real mainline linux port for ubuntu touch.
- https://liberux.net/ is trying to build the liberux nexx phone based on an rk3588s board. It's not going to be exactly the same as orange pi 5 but it will only be a small step from there.

@haagch
That liberux phone looks interesting ! Sadly, far out of my phone budget - even the redesigned, lower cost unit (current, compared to last year).
