Since I am newbie, I did not think of this.
That's to be expected. That's why I told you.

I can confirm that I have unlocked a OP N10 without a code. Bought in Canada, not sold by a telecom. I think it was probably BE2026?
What I don't understand is how Oneplus knows the phone was from eBay. Did you mention that in applying for a code to unlock the bootloader?
-
@wally Yes. In our email conversations, they requested copy of sales receipt. So I sent a screen cap.

Could you look at your phone & confirm whether BE2026 specifically ? Then I could search Ebay specifically, & try again. I have tried this already & Ebay shows multiple results, most of which say BE2028 in actual text of listing. So, Ebay search not so great.

I was able to receive an unlock from OnePlus for BE2028. I was asked to send a proof of purchase (Amazon). Can you sell the eBay version to someone else and try to purchase from Amazon?
btw, it took about 2 weeks from when I screenshot the IMEI, serial, unlock code, etc before I receive the unlock token. (highly recommend screenshot vs talk over phone, I lost 3 additional weeks due to error in translation).
Please note: it works on T-Mobile, but starting next year they are deprecating 4G in USA with complete deprecation in 2028 (for Starlink satellite ... not dead zones any where it world!). I think from the VOLTE thread someone got it working on a Verizon subsidiary, so that could extend usage further. Not sure which one though.
Not sure if this impacts your decision. I'm going to use it as long as I can and try to stay Ubuntu Touch on my next phone too.

@Leroy_Linux US Mobile. Also works with 5g on T-Mobile and AT&T 5g.
-
@Leroy_Linux Curious whether your second SIM slot works. BE2025 and BE2026 only have one SIM slot

Nice! Thanks for the info! Will look to those carriers if the need arises.

Mine also only has 1 SIM slot (the 2nd slot is microSD).

@Leroy_Linux Interesting. You might want to check your SIM tray. BE2028 is supposed to have SIM + SIM/SD Card

Under a magnifier, BE2028 SIM tray shows SIM & microSD. My SIM card only fits in the end of it.

@oldbutndy Maybe you can ask kindly oneplus to review your request .If you bought it carrier sim unlocked , or did it while under contract with tmo , they ''should'' give you the token .
Ah ah , or UT is too good with N10 now , they would be mildly overwhelm with too many requests on that discontinued device ... but seriously , i dont understand their * new * ebay weird policy ,may they get pressure by tmo greed .
I say * new * policy because in oct 2025 , i did gave me a unlock bootld token for a clearly specified to them the device came from ebay ,sim unlocked, or , i've been lucky with one+ support and stumble on the nice guy . -
https://github.com/nylar357/nord_oem might help you. But I have to warn you I haven't tried it.

@oldbutndy In Ubuntu Touch, all "About This Device" tells me is "OneplusN10". Looking up IMEI didn't yield anything specific about model #.
My best guess after some reading on XDA:
BE2025=Metro(USA?)
BE2026=North America, non-network
BE2028=TMobile(USA?)
BE2029=Global except stupid North American market?Anyway, mine does NOT have a dual SIM, and I never saw Metro or T-Mobile on boot, so I presume it's BE2026. Happy to check further if you know how.
But sounds like BE2026 (if you can get your hands on it) or non-eBay purchase is the way to go?Thanks for the info about them asking for sales receipts, BTW.. I'm considering buying a replacement N10 for my poor broken old one, now that VoLTE seems to be coming along. 3G is slowly being sunset up here in Canada too.
I've been trying to get a Redmi Note 9 Pro working, but can't get bootloader unlocked, and network coverage isn't great anyway. -

Hi, Thank you. Sadly, this info does not help, as it seems to unlock carrier, but still need Oneplus to send bootloader unlock token. That is where they refused. So, I am stuck. I will search for BE2026 model.

Anyway, ... so I presume it's BE2026. Happy to check further if you know how.[hours ago I reinstalled Android 12 on my Pixel 3A XL, so I don't have a UT phone I can try at the moment]
I just Googled how to find it when running UT, and it suggested this:
Alternative Ways to View Model Information
If the graphical settings do not provide the specific "BE2026" string, you can find it via the terminal or external tools:
Ubuntu Touch Tweak Tool: Install this app from the OpenStore. Under the System Info section, it provides more granular hardware details than the standard settings app.Terminal Commands: Open the Terminal app and enter the following to see raw device information:
getprop ro.product.model: Specifically for Android-based ports, this command often returns the exact model number like BE2026.Please let me know if either of these work.
Thank You. -
I don't understand why they even care where you bought it. Unlocking bootloader factory resets the device right?
It's not like you're using it to access data from a stolen device..And you'll need access on the device to even allow unlocking
-
@oldbutndy @vverve I posted a link in the PM you tagged me in that shows OP support is variable and you should try it more than once

On my previous phone purchases (6 google Pixels, to install 5 LineageOS & 1 UT), I was aware I needed to buy 'Factory Unlocked', and not originally sold by Verizon or AT&T, because they refused to unlock bootloaders.
My guess is that, at least partly, they realize that by installing 3rd party firmware, we extend the life of the device and put off buying new ones.
I read what I could find regarding Oneplus, and it looked as though, as long as carrier was unlocked (which implied phone paid off), then Oneplus would unlock bootloader (for T-mobile sold models).
I discovered that, at least in my case (BE2028), not always true.
[Since this failure, I searched info for other possible UT candidates, and read that Xiaomi is less helpful for unlocking lately].
I also discovered (sadly for this UT project) there are far more 'factory unlocked' Pixels available used than Nord N10's !
