Demonstration

A priori, anyone who makes the choice to waste tens or hundreds of euros/dollars in a smartphone has the means to intelligently use 1 €/$ by year to promote the development of the mobile OS component of this smartphone.
With Liberapay, the recurrent donations platform built with free software and translated into 22 languages, it's super easy and cheap to make anonymously a donation of 1€/$ by year.
Conclusion: Any Ubuntu Touch user can easily give 1€/$ by year (or more for some) to UBports via Liberapay.

Strangely, at the moment, only 40 Ubuntu Touch users (I presume) seem aware of this.
For the reputation and aura of the UBports project, it would be awesome that it be the one by far with the largest number of supporters on Liberapay.

So and because free as in "free speech" doesn't mean free as in "free beer", it's time to wake up, huge crowd of Ubuntu Touch users, overcome the huge laziness, and tries to saturate Liberapay server with your constant stream of very small (or large) donations !

Is there any way to make a one-time donation? (eg. SEPA, MasterCard, Visa, ...)

Can I make a one-time donation?

No, but you can stop your donation at any time, and it will de facto cease if you don't top up your account when needed.

Yes, simply create your donation and delete it after the first payment. Liberapay payment are done each week on wednesday (~~tuesday~~).

However, for a donation of 50 euros at once or a recurring donation of one euro for 50 weeks, bank charges are the same with Liberapay, as long as you credit your Liberapay account only once...

Liberapay " currently support most credit and debit cards (VISA and MasterCard), as well as bank wires and direct debits (SEPA only). "

But this by losing the visibility of the donation (the more patrons the better) which is as important as the monetary aspect in term of project reputation.

@jezek SEPA will be available if we finally become a legal foundation. Currently we cannot open an account so easily, as this creates a lot of legal and tax problems. Say hello to todays regulated world

oh ... I see, that is how Librepay works. You transfer some money to the Librepay platform (aka. credit it), an then redistribute it to projects.

Wonderfull, in only 2 days, 2 more people (42 versus 40) are now patrons of UBports on Liberapay.

That's five times faster than in the previous six months.

Let's accelerate again in the next days, weeks and months until all UBports users are part of this glorious club.

Only payments are done by week. When you create a donation, you can choose an amount, and a period, (week, month or year). So for exemple, you can choose 1 €/$ as amount and "year" as period.
In any case, it is impossible to give more by mistake than the amount you have credited to your Liberapay account.

I asked for the the Liberapay widget to be put up at least which shows how much UBports is getting. A much better idea would be to ask Liberapay to create a widget which will only show the amount of supporters. So you do not have the names present but at least visotrs to the UBports page can see there are people who support this.
