Notes app after update to 16.04 rc version 13
-
@marathon2422 There are a few good note apps but none sync to evernote like the note app did as far as I know. Which is a shame and what made note so useful to me.
-
Rudi told me he thinks is this same issue https://github.com/ubports/notes-app/issues/12
It's due to the QtPIM update.

@hummlbach said that it should work now but it still doesn't work. But I found something else:
syncevolution --export - backend=evolution-memos database=system-memo-list
doesn't list anything. Could it be a problem with the database system after the update? Maybe Notes crashes because it cannot connect to the database? -
I have the same issue using the notes app found in the openstore, but my manually/locally compiled version is still working... So the problem must be somewhere in the 'deploy chain' of the notes app.
-
@hummlbach Would you have a click package that I can use for now so that I can access my Notes? Thanks again!
-
Try this if its urgent.
-
@hummlbach That works, Thanks
-
@hummlbach Thank you so much! Yes, the app works now. But do you have any idea why I don't have any notes in it? Could it really be that after the update to rc v13 the memos database is empty?
-
@mihael mine has notes in, had to resync with Evernote after restarting phone.
-
@lakotaubp I don't think I had the notes on evernote

I come back with my request for help: After update to 16.04 rc v13, I cannot see my notes anymore. First of all, the Notes app would not start and then I upgraded to version 0.6.3. Now Notes app starts but there are no entries. Somehow, the notes were lost. I have an old backup so I could retrieve some of my notes. Could someone tell me where I can find in the backup of the /home directory the folder with the notes? Thank you very much!
-
Notes are stored in
.local/share/com.ubuntu.reminders/@local
and its very mysterious that you've lost them... But if you replace thecom.ubuntu.reminders
subdirectory in.local/share
with a backup, your notes should be back. -
@hummlbach Thanks for your reply. Yes, that is where I found them in the backup and that folder was empty on my phone after the update to rc v13... Another interesting thing was that restoring that folder did not make my notes appear. I had to use a computer and create manually all the notes on evernote.com and then sync my phone with evernote.
