      I installed ubports-installer_0.1.21-beta_amd64.deb on Linux Mint, wanted to patch a Nexus5. Installation Ubuntu-Touch seemed to work. During installation there was an error-message: "Device not found, try again". But there is no second chance. Now I know, what is a Handy-Brick 😞

      is there any help?

      why nobody sells a runnable smartphone with Ubuntu-Touch?

        @thomas_ww first of all, don't worry because your phone is not bricked.

        Check before using the installer that you have adb and fastboot tools in your computer. Check that developer mode is on in your device too. Then try again.

            @thomas_ww has ut detected your device? If not try another cable or choose the device yourself and away you should go. As long as developer mode is on and adb has been granted permision

              @lakotaubp Yes, the device was detected and the installation started. After a while, maybe 50% of installation there was an error-message: "Device not found, try again".

                @thomas_ww does adb devices detect your phone guess it will. If so try another cable and start again. Cables can be a big issue

                  @lakotaubp The Nexus5 does not have a working Android. It just shows "Google" on the screen. No other funktion any more.

                    @thomas_ww Have you or can you do the following
                    Sudo apt install android-tools-adb
                    Sudo apt install android-tools-fastboot
                    Sudo apt install phablet-tools
                    Then try again I think you have the recovery but not the OS. Also try version 0.1.12 of the installer its an old one but reliable.

                      @lakotaubp okay, I installed this 3 programs,
                      I installed ubports-installer_0.1.12-beta_amd64.deb on Linux Mint.
                      But cant get no connection to the Nexus5 anymore.

                      So I think, I'm wasting my time. The Nexus5 is for recycling.

                        @thomas_ww No not yet. Try putting the device into fastboot, switch it off then hold volume up, volume down and power button all together till it enters fastboot. If it does theres more we can do but running out of time for tonight. P.S. As for no connection that sounds like adb not working. Restart phone and just see if adb devices shows your device. Stop adb first sudo adb kill-server, then restart it sudo adb start-server then adb devices if your device show it still lives. Back tomorrow.

                                @thomas_ww From brick to UBports excellent, enjoy. One quick tip from @advocatux charge the device until the battety indicator goes white not just full and green. You will get much better battery life. Oh you are on 16.04 now are you not.
