Camera app doesn't work
-
@Erwin Can you change your update channel to development and try again just as a check. Mine is working fine on dev. If your not already on dev.
-
I work on dev, so perhaps I try on stable
-
@Erwin Take it this is the standard camera app that comes with UT. If nothing else you could try reinstalling UT as final test that it's not the camera itself.
-
I have this issue too.
@Lakotaubp how can I reinstall UT? -
@ratovsky Use the installer again without the wipe option. Make sure you have a back up of your stuff though just incase.
-
I have installed the RC version now. And everything is fine now.
So I can't really tell if it's an issue with the stable image. -
Strange...me on stable channel works fine..would be fine to know why..
-
@ratovsky My BQ M10 HD works fine on RC version.

I'm not sure if this might be related: The Camera app on my BQ Aquaris 4.5 stopped working around the 1st of March, I think it was shortly before OTA 8. Whenever I start the camera app I get either the camera app's interface with a black background, or more usually, a message telling me "Camera app doesn't have permission to access the camera hardware or another error occurred. If granting permission does not resolve this problem, reboot your device".
Of course the Camera app has permission as per the system settings, and rebooting doesn't solve the issue.
I've been wondering if the problem was the same as with the MEIZU Pro, or whether the camera was simply broken.

In my case, the reboot worked with my Nexus5, the problem occurred few times.
Have you tried to remove the cache files before rebooting? -

Have you tried to remove the cache files before rebooting? Thanks for your reply! I just tried that and removed all 111 files from the cache and rebooted, but the camera app still won't work. What is strange is that each time after I try there are 111 files in the cache again.

BTW, neither of the apps that use camera functionality work, and they all give me an error-message to the effect that I'll have to grant the app camera-access. At the moment the only other app to access the camera on my phone is UTorch.
