I know the camera image freeze bug should be fixed wit OTA-9 (see https://forums.ubports.com/topic/2585/n5-two-annoying-camera-bugs-fixed-in-rc and https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues/611), but I still have this issue. 😞

After updating to OTA-9 and also after the uptate to OTA-10 I tested the camera and the image did not freeze. 👍 Then one day later it freezes again. 👎 All I did in between was:

      • rebooted my device 2 or 3 times
      • flashed the anbox image again

Am I the only person with this issue? Is there a workaround/fix for that? Does someone know the reason?

@schouk I do not have anbox.
But I don't have this issue anymore.

Camera would freeze when switching from front to back camera... I was thinking of opening an issue, but it's not a big deal.

@schouk In my experience it freezes the 1st time after a reboot, then works fine. No change with OTA-10.

Could the behaviour be different with Android firmware? I have the latest of their 5.1.1s. What's yours?

@nightshift I also have 5.1.1. Do you use anbox?

I now can confirm that it happens after flashing the anbox image and before installing anbox-ubuntu-touch.

I think it has something to do with the anbox image. Maybe something in this image overrides the changes from the bug fix: https://github.com/ubports/android_device_lge_hammerhead/pull/18/files ?

@schouk I don't use anbox. Hopefully someone with more experience will reply. But for now, based on my search, can you run anbox-tool disable then try the camera and anbox-tool status, and then re-enable it?

@nightshift Thank you for your help 🙂 but I tried this before and it does not fix the issue. As i mentioned above, even before I install anbox-ubuntu-touch I have the issue with the camera. So it has to be something in that anbox img that causes this issue.
