@libremax Thanks for the update : that's great news.

Hi everybody, I have a small and maybe tricky (sorry about that) question about Volla Phone : It seems that is based on Gigaset GS290 (same specs and look). Is the UB's Volla Phone image could be used on the Gigaset ?
-
@DansLeRuSH You have to ask Volla, we have not participated in their experiments so far and we do not have either the image nor the device ^^
-
@Flohack Ah ah OK, will I dare ? (thank you for the answer by the way)
-
It it possible to unlock the bootloader of Gigaset devices?
If you get answer to your questition from volla phone, feel free to share it with us.
-
@makeixo It seems (for a majority of models anyway, even if I didn't find the CS290 in the list) https://www.gigaset.com/en_en/cms/lp/open-source.html
-
@DansLeRuSH Maybe it isnt added yet.
It would be nice having an port for the GS290. Chinese smartphones may be better but having the option to buy one which isnt build on inhuman working conditions, would be nice - at least in my opinion.
-
@makeixo Probably (for GS290). And yes it's another subject but I totally agree, I don't know Gigaset especially but I take the decision to systematically ask the manufacturer about the production conditions before purchase.
-
@DansLeRuSH Well, thats acutally known. Gigasets manufactures in Germany with a high degree of automation. ~ 60% automation. ~ 40 % manual labour without typical assembly lines.

@makeixo OK, I definitively put Gigaset in the whitelist (and thank you for the video)
-
@DansLeRuSH They may not play in the same league with the fairphone and shiftphone guys but in my opinion its better than nothing.
-
@makeixo I didn't even know Shiftphones (thanks) and yes, for hardware, the origin of the raw materials, the manufacturing conditions and the reparability ... or AT LEAST one of the three must be taken into account
-
@DansLeRuSH well, they are a quite small startup.
In my opinion they would be still a perfect fit for UT or SFOS, but I don't think we will see UT on a shiftphone soon. The shiftphone devices are still rare, therefore I dont think someone will port them for UT

Nice, official UT support.
Anyone knows if this is indeed using Halium9 as previously indicated?
Might this open easy porting to other recent Gigaset mobiles with similar hardware?
