@dtarrantJust rerun the installer and that will sort it, had the same thing myself last week getting to dev.
Edge is for want of a better expression super dev and could break your system at anytime with changes to unity8. The dev channel is by far the better place to try the new stuff since OTA11.

@Lakotaubp Thanks for your assistance. Will I lose all my installed apps?

@Lakotaubp BTW I noticed that the bottom of the forum menu is partially off the screen. That makes it difficult to access login. That problem also exists on stable. Have you noticed that issue?

@dtarrant No you will not lose your apps or anything as long as you DON'T tick the wipe box. I use a couple of the we b apps for the forum and have no problem. Might be a scaling on your device UT tweak Tool can help with that. Which device are you on in case someone else has the same issus and solved it.

@Lakotaubp That's good news. Doesn't look like a scaling problem; looks like a displacement problem as there's a blank gap at the top.

                Device is a Nexus 4.

@Lakotaubp Once you're logged in, the menu is OK.

@dtarrant Followed your advice and now safely back to stable without losing anything. Many thanks for your help.

If you bump into any such issues it would be ideal if you could try to browse for them here: https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues (in case such report exists already)
and if found add your comment to that issue with any further information that may be helpful.

If you can't find such issue reported already then open up a new ticket, giving as much description as possible, adding your device info, channel + release in which the error occurs (or say any if it is not specific to a single release) and ideally attach a screenshot/photo. Only then these kind of issues can be addressed (if possible and easy to fix) as these are listed at a single specific place and forum is not the best place to report anything. Maybe asking others if they have the same issue - for that, this is a good place I'd guess.

But to be honest if this is a device-specific issue the fix will probably not come from the main development team but someone from the community would have to fix it. Though as mentioned, there is a higher chance of getting some traction on GitHub rather than here.

@zubozrout Thanks for that helpful guide. I already created a GitHub account recently in order to be able to report problems.
