The SMS are stored in a MySQL databasa, search for my small booklet in git about the UT E4.5, there is a chapter about this.

Yes, export the data as indicated in the booklet, move the file to your PC (you said nothing about its OS) and show the exported data there.

If you are talking about how to backup messages to computer,i think those third party tools can do that,first they will move messages to computer in a secure way,after that,you can backup messages on computer.

Use SSH {PuTTY on Windoof} or ADB to login into phablet's shell, export the sqlite DB as indicated and move the files to your PC, use notepad or gvim to read them.
