can't import google contacts

that's pretty much it. I have been able to get a variety of errors but no contacts.
"sign in with google temporarily disabled for this app" is the most common result of attempting to import contacts.

I've searched and looked at all the various answers. Still no luck. Any new information?

@Mr-Smartyman It seems that this bug is known due to an outdated key/certificate and the reneweal isn't working. If you are on the stable channel you might wait till OTA 12 will be released, as the bug should be fixed.

@Mr-Smartyman It's in the final stages of testing. In the mean time keep trying to login in to your Google account. Sometimes after 10 or so attempts you can get a captcha screen which when filled in solves the issue of signing in. Then you can switch on contacts and calendar sync in system settings.

I tried a bunch of times with no luck. I finally went this route to export from my computer and import to my device.
