        Hi everybody,

I'm new to UBports and installed the latest version on my Fairphone 2 yesterday. It works nice but sometimes the phone doesn't wake up after sleep. The screen stays black and nothing happens.

Is there a way to debug this?

@rndevfx Have you tried to press both volume button and power button to wake it up? I know that Nexus 5 does not always wake up when pressing the power button, but wakes up when both these buttons are pressed. Maybe same with FP2? 🙂

For the Nexus 5 a workaround is to disable automatic brightness.

I had that once at my FP2. I solved it by tapping on the screen after pressing power button. But since over one month I do not have the problem anymore.
@wgarcia is maybe right. I switched off automatic brightness anyhow.

@wgarcia yes, that was one of my first thoughts as well. But it still happens 🙂

Thanks for all the other answers @hans1977se and @Bastos - I'll try it if it happens again. This morning it happened after each sleep but now it runs without any problems. I'll send you some feedback

@wgarcia Worked for me too. 🙂

@Bastos I tried on Nexus 5, works. Also pressing the power button followed by sweep works, which i actually think is kind of a feature. 😄

@rndevfx Will be interesting to read your feedback. 🙂

Okay, I've got it. It only appears when I attach / detach the micro usb cable for loading the battery. When I remove the cable, the phone won't wake up again or (if the display was on) after the next sleep. Same thing happens when I attach the power cable.

I logged in via ssh and got this from syslog: https://paste.ubuntu.com/25171358/
After the last "handle_power_button_press" nothing happens - even when I press the button again (or press other buttons). SSH-connection is alive and the phone command line is usable.

@rndevfx Nice findings. 🙂 Looks like a good idea to put in a new issue for FP2. https://wiki.ubports.com/wiki/UBports-Bug-Trackers
