      Hello, friends,
I just bought a pinephone and I already broke it!
As the camera and the sd card are still not working I started to use the console and tried to do an apt-get update and an apt-get upgrade.
Now the phone turns on but it doesn't go past the pinephone logo and it stays lethargic and I can't do anything.
      Help!!!
Do I have to install again the UBports image? anything else? How?
      Thank you very much.

        Hi imermauba,

Have you tried the ubports installer 0.4.18 it has an image for the Pinephone.

Honestly, I don't know how to do it. I've done installations on the computer, never on a mobile phone like the pinephone

            @imermauba

So, now is the time to do it...

If you were able to "break" your phone using apt (which is not recommended at all, FYI...) it should not be a problem for you to install the ubport installer on your PC and just run it, following the fool proof instructions given...

@imermauba At the moment, PinePhone is not supported by the UBports installer.

To flash image onto eMMC, you will find complete instructions on Pine64 wiki :

uTouch is not a standard linux distrib, it's a phone oriented one, it has to have some security features and limitations, you musn't use apt on it directly (unless you REALLY know what you do, it's a free system after all, you do what you want on it... at your own risk like you saw).

So first do what Libremax said.

Second, look and search around what's already working and not on your phone, and be patient for what doesn't, that'll come.

Then when you'll have repaired it, search for "libertine contener" on this forum if you want to play on it like on any GNU/linux it's in there you should go.

                2015-Now : Meizu MX4 (ubp OTA-23) for daily use
                Spare : Nexus 5

My pinephone has a very limited functionality.
I made updates when i booted the first time. Now i tried stable (2020-07-04), rc and dev.
No cellular network (can not connect), no mobile data, no gps, no camera (should be normal).
I checked the hardware buttons and turned them off and on again.
The cellular network tries to connect but then is rejected.
                  The gps does nothing.
In the apps permissions i have no entries for camera, location and microphone, which is not normal. By installing unav and puremaps i was not asked to give permissions.

What does the reset button on the back?
Is there a way to fully reflash the phone?
