      Re: Keyboard Changes
I wish the keyboard on UT could be more predictive. If I type a word with a mistake (the letter next to it) such as lpve instead of love, it won't see the connection between the two. I keep making mistakes because of my bit fingers on such a small screen and it is sooo frustrating having to erase a whole word because the prediction is wrong... Or when I type the beginning of a word such as : "ordi", it will write "ordinaire" instead of "ordinateur"... And the more I teach the keyboard, the less it remembers what I teach. so annoying! I hate tactile screens so much, such a waste of time!...
And glide typing would be SOOOOO welcome!

I'd like to second that 👍

I'm not into swiping but can imagine people wanting that too

It's not auto-correction we're looking for here, just a better prediction of the word that's about to being entered. Tbh, at least in my language it fails to do that. As a consequence I find myself rewriting correcting many times, time I'd rather spend elsewhere

              • You can scale the whole UI with UT Tweak Tools. So the OSK will be bigger
              • but it sounds you could enjoy attach a keyboard. You can do that via micro usb (with an adapter) or bluetooth

I find it helps to have the phone in landscape orientation when typing as it makes the keys larger and hence less prone to mistyping.
I do wish there were left and right cursor movement keys when correcting errors. I find it difficult to place the cursor precisely with the existing editing mode.

I sometimes use an external keyboard... but not always. I wish I could glide or dictate.

Not much work in the "smart" parts of the keyboard so help would be greatly appreciated 😄

I just would like to keep this thread alive and show support to this idea especially to the 'Glide Typing' part. It is just so convenient! After using it for years on my Android, it was one of the first things that came to my mind about UT: I really do miss Glide Typing! I think, there are many who would like to see this, and it would help adoption.

Btw, sorry for the loosely related question, I don't want to hijack this conversation, but is there a way to donate to the development of specific features? Like 'Glide Typing'? I couldn't find anything like this, so I guess there's no automated way at least to donate for a specific purpose. ... I think this idea might be worth a separate post...

I'm also used to this (even though I much prefer proper physical keyboard phones and hope there'll be some more in the future), so for inspiration, here's an open source "gesture typing" implementation that works quite well:

Regarding the glide/swipe keyboard, there was a project called skeyer, but I don't know its current state or how to run it.
